Jesus Wants You to be a Good Example! 10-Commandment Boogie to Jesus (LKV Session 3 ) How can Kids for Christ become good examples? KFC International Coordinator Nic Escalona said every kid can remember how -- through a boogie.

makakarating ka sa heaven (We need to listen to our parents. God said, if you obey your parents, you will go to heaven),” Nic explained to the kids.

KFC full time worker Gretchen Yaoyao taught the kids the dance called the 10-commandment Boogie, which every kid should remember and follow.

6 - Don’t ever take somebody’s life.

The 10-Commandment Boogie: 1 - No other God but the One who is true. 2 - Don’t worship any other God. 3 - Use the name of God only with respect. “We make God our number 1,” Nic said through the commandments 1 to 3. He reminded kids to pray first thing in the morning, before sleeping and before eating. We could also pray after to thank God for the food we have received. 4 - On Sunday, take a rest. “May mga pamilya kahit sa CFC na hindi na sabaysabay magsimba (There are families, even in CFC, that don’t go to mass together anymore),” Nic said, reminding everyone how important the family mass is. 5 - Listen to your mom and dad ‘cause what they say you gotta do. “Kailangan makinig sa ating magulang. Ang sabi ni God ‘pag nakinig ka sa mga magulang mo,

Nic said, this commandment is about treating others well, especially through our words. “Kung walang masabing mabuti, wag nalang magsalita, (If you don’t have anything good to say, better not to say anything,” he explained. 7 - Feels like heaven, but only with your husband or wife. Nic said, twenty years from now, the kids could get married too just like their parents. But even now, we value being faithful in marriage. “Sasabihin niyo sa parents niyo (Tell your parents) later, thank you for being faithful,” he said. 8 - Is great with number 9 don’t steal from others and don’t ever lie. Nic reminded kids that they should not steal money, even if it’s just a small amount and even if they want some ice cream! 10 - and if your friends has something that you think is cool don’t ever wish that it was yours and that’s the final rule.

Look Like Jesus Through Communion LKV 2013 Mass, Day 3

What happens when you receive the Body and Blood of Jesus? On the Feast of the Corpus Christi, kids learned that they will look like Jesus when they take communion during mass. “’Pag tinatanggap niyo si Jesus kayo ay nagiging kamukha ni Jesus. ’Yun ang mangyayari sa ating lahat (When you receive Jesus, you will look like Jesus. That is what will happen to all of us),” Msgr. Allen Aganon said during the last mass of the LKV this morning. What happens when we receive Jesus? Our heart and attitudes become Jesus’ heart and attitudes. “Madali tyaong magmahal, tumulong sa ating kapwa, magbigay sa nangangailangan. (It is easy for us to love, help others, give to the needy.) We can do an act of kindness when Jesus is now with us,” Msgr. Aganon explained. We become strong. “Ang unang nangyayari, tayo ay nagiging malakas.. Para maging malakas, kailangan kumain, (The first thing that happens is we become strong. To be strong, we need to eat,” he added. Msgr. Aganon said it is like basketball players who need to eat a lot and drink milk to be strong. For KFCs, their food is Jesus in holy communion. He reminded the 2,500 kids and parents that if they are strong because of Jesus, they need to exercise to stay strong. This can be done through prayer and doing good to others. “‘Yan ang napapalakas ng muscle ng ating kaluluwa, (That is what strengthens the muscle of the soul)” Msgr. Aganon said in closing.

“The Family that Twists Together Stays Together”

LKV 2013 Dance Competition It was the Barba family’s first time to compete as a dancing family, but their first time was charm time. They won the LKV 2013 Family Dance Competition yesterday after practicing together for a week. Mommy Hazel and Heart, the second child of the family had already joined mother and daughter contests in past KFC conferences, but yesterday was their first time to dance as family. Dancing the song “Let’s Twist Again”, the Barbas chose the song so everyone could relate and sing along with the music. In an interview, they said, they were thankful that they were given the opportunity to perform and inspire other families through their talent. The criteria for judging were: originality 20%, creativity 15%, audience impact 10%, vibrancy and execution 20%, synchronization and movements 20% ,and costume and appearance 15%. The contest was judged by Bobby Fernandez, a KFC coordinator, Lydia Posadas , who serves in the Family Ministries and Jun Caspillan, ANCOP head.

‘Kids, join the Pope in praying that we become like Jesus!’ It seems like Pope Francis knows that Kids for Christ want to be obedient and follow Jesus. This morning, a priest asked KFCs to join the pope in praying that we all become more like Jesus. At around 10 p.m., Philippine time, 5 p.m. Rome time, the Holy Father will be holding a Eucharistic adoration, praying for the intention that the Church may be “ever more obedient to hearing [Jesus’] Word.” During the last holy mass of the Luzon Kids Village (LKV) this morning, Msgr. Allen Aganon asked the 2,500 kids and parents to join the entire Church all over the world in praying. In ending his homily, Msgr. Aganon asked them who wanted to be a saint. A lot of kids and adults raised their hands. He reminded them that to be a saint, one needs to pray. It is like exercising the “muscle of the soul.” He also talked about the value of kindness and compassion. Msgr. Aganon, who is the spiritual director of Couples for Christ, played the song “An Act of Kindness” to show how a random act of kindness can touch other people. Msgr. Allen said, we can do acts of kindness wholeheartedly if Jesus is in our hearts. The LKV 2013 just ended this morning at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center, Lingayen, Pangasinan. Some 2,500 kids and parents coming from Metro Manila, Quezon, Bicol, Palawan and Mindoro attended the event, which started last May 31. [Zairra Engracia]
