5 CAMPAIGNS IN 2 WEEKS DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO

5 CAMPAIGNS IN 2 WEEKS DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO
In July, CfaN conducted five Gospel Campaigns in the Democratic Republic of the Congo’s southeastern region. This included locations where no one has ever held a mass evangelistic campaign before. These border and mining towns’ populations have exploded – a decade ago, they were just villages. Now they are bustling towns full of people, a huge opportunity for the preaching of the Gospel.
Evangelist Daniel Kolenda was joined by CfaN-trained evangelists who were stationed in each location, while he traveled between them.
16 – 20 July
When Evangelist Gary shared how King David fell to his knees after the prophet Nathan confronted him, and how he cried out, “Create in me a clean heart, O God,” it was as if the entire crowd stepped into that same moment. Across the field, people dropped to their knees, crying out in repentance, surrendering their lives to Jesus.
Evangelist Daniel preached in Fungurume on the first night, where Evangelists Gary Smith and Derek Berchie were stationed for the week. Driving to the campaign field and seeing campaign advertising everywhere, Daniel described the atmosphere as ‘electric with anticipation’. There was a sense that something significant was about to happen –that this was a land ripe for harvest.
Sheperd Dona testified to a miracle that took place on the Friday night. He was at the campaign that night when he felt prompted to video call his brother James, who was four hours away in Lubumbashi (the capital city). James had been bedridden for a year due to heart problems and severe shortness of breath. As Evangelist Derek prayed, Jesus touched James through the phone! Minutes later, he called back – standing on his feet, breathing freely and shouting, “I am healed!”
DRC 16 – 20 July
On Night Two, as Daniel was interviewing testimonies in Likasi, a sudden commotion broke out in the crowd. People were shouting, jumping, and pointing toward something in the distance. He asked what was happening, and they shouted back, “Mad man!” He said, “A mad man has been healed?” They shouted, “Yes!” So he called for the man to come to the platform immediately.
A man emerged from the crowd in filthy clothes, his face frozen in shock. Daniel asked him how long he had been like this, and he said it had been many years. He explained that he used to chase people and attack them without cause. But that night, he said,
Antoine had lived with a painful hernia for 10 years. He couldn’t move without agony. But Jesus healed him! He demonstrated his miracle onstage with Evangelist Ester Tshimuanga by jumping, pain-free and beaming with joy.
Jesus touched him. Daniel turned to the crowd and asked how many of them knew who he was, and hundreds shouted back in recognition and excitement.
When Daniel returned to the hotel, the evangelists in the other two cities excitedly shared that the exact same thing had happened in those locations – a mad man was restored to sanity and the crowds erupted in praise!
16 – 20 July
On Night Three, when Evangelist Daniel Kolenda preached, the response to the Gospel was overwhelming – nearly unanimous. After the call to salvation, they burned witchcraft items, casting off every tie to the occult. Daniel broke curses in Jesus’ name and then prayed for the sick. The power of God fell, and miracles broke out.
A local witchdoctor named Kadima Papi came forward with a powerful testimony. He had suffered from a painful, swollen hernia for four years – so debilitating he couldn’t walk properly or be intimate with his wife. But during the prayer for the sick, the pain vanished and the hernia disappeared! Overwhelmed by what Jesus had done, Kadima renounced witchcraft and surrendered his life to Christ. He left the field healed, delivered, and born again!
KIPUSHI, DRC 23 – 27 July
Kipushi, a town that has never had any kind of Gospel Campaign before, is so known for its reputation that there’s a local saying: “What good can come from Kipushi?” But the CfaN Gospel Campaign turned that saying on its head. Evangelist Dario Giustino (a CfaN Bootcamp graduate) reported that from the first night, thousands gathered, eager to hear the Gospel. The response to the altar call was overwhelming each night and there were many powerful miracles. Word spread fast, and the crowd had more than doubled by the final night as people were drawn to see this move of God for themselves.
Nicole had a tumor on her right hand for 3 years.
During the prayer, when the Evangelist said to touch the part of the body that hurts, she did so — and she was healed! The tumor disappeared. She immediately called her sister to share the miracle and then came forward to testify. They tested her healing by having her stretch out her hand.
On the final night, the evangelists blessed the nation from the stage.
Likasi is a large city, big enough to make it difficult for people to travel across the city, So, in week two, CfaN held a second Gospel Campaign in a different area, giving all Likasi access to the Good News. The two evangelists stationed here are CfaN-trained veterans of African Campaigns. Evangelists David Rotärmel and Jana Bielava preached to a packed field from the first night.
Basco, an elderly gentleman, had intense pain because of a hernia which made it impossible for him to bend. When Evangelist Jana prayed for the sick, he was completely healed, testifying on the stage by bending and dancing without any pain.
23 – 27 July
John had a bike accident in March, which left him with pain in both legs. During prayer, when Evangelist David instructed the crowd to place their hands on the part of the body that was in pain, John obeyed and touched his legs. To his amazement, he realized the pain in both legs was completely gone. LIKASI (KIKULA),
There were so many children in attendance the first night, the evangelists spontaneously decided to hold a special Kids’ Campaign in the mornings from Thursday to Saturday. Thousands of children gave their lives to Jesus and received the baptism in the Holy Spirit!
