Dear Member,
Welcome to summer! For CET and ThinkTV, the start of summer marks the end of our fiscal year (June 30) and, on behalf of our Board of Trustees and staff, I want to thank our members, volunteers, foundations and businesses who support us throughout the year. Your support allows us to provide educational resources, programming and online services to the communities we serve in Southwest Ohio.
For parents of young learners who might be worried about summer slide, check out our Virtual Field Trips at OhioLearns360.org. We also have a ton of great content available in PBS LearningMedia, including Carnival of the Animals: Remix and $martPath, which would make great educational resources for summer learning. If you’re a teacher, our educational team at SOITA has some fantastic opportunities for summer professional development. More information on educational resources is available on our websites.
We have some wonderful PBS programming to offer this month. American Masters’ Little Richard: The King and Queen of Rock and Roll illuminates the pioneering life and career of Little Richard who emerged from performing in drag clubs in New Orleans to become one of the architects of rock ‘n roll. Great Performances at The Met premieres Medea, which features soprano Sondra Radvanovsky as the mythic sorceress who will stop at nothing in her quest for vengeance. The Great American Recipe returns for Season 2 with a new group of inventive home cooks showcasing their beloved signature dishes.
Endeavour returns for its ninth and final season and finds retired DI Alex Ridley consulting on a case that takes a dark and unexpected turn. Buffalo Soldiers: Fighting on Two Fronts focuses on the thousands of Black soldiers, named and nameless, who served in the United States Army and took part in the history of America’s westward expansion. Below the Belt: The Last Health Taboo examines endometriosis, a disease that affects 1 in 9 women.
Episodes of our local productions – The Art Show and Showcase with Barbara Kellar - and all of our digital shows are available on the PBS App and YouTube. You can also find our podcasts on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and our websites.
From educational content to national PBS programming to local shows – it’s all possible because of your ongoing contributions. My thanks to you!

WOW! Program Celebrates Five Years
Each summer, SOITA (Southwestern Ohio Instructional Technology Association) and CET partner with the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base Educational Outreach Office’s WOW! Program. This year marks the fifth year that these organizations have partnered to offer free workshops for area educators featuring handson activities that highlight a plethora of STEM- and STEAM-focused resources for the classroom.
During these workshops, educators have the opportunity to explore a variety of tools while collaborating with other educators from throughout southwestern Ohio. Each year, the workshops feature different tools and devices such as Makey Makey, BBC micro:bits, Cublets, Finch robots, and more.
The WOW! Workshops have quickly become a summer tradition that both the instructors and educators look forward to and there are often a number of familiar faces among the attendees. Participants enjoy the chance to get hands-on experience with new technology in a supportive environment. Instructors love being
ThinkTV Hosts Move To Include Event
ThinkTV welcomed 200 guests in March for an in-person and online screening and panel discussion about the challenges and opportunities for people living with intellectual and development disabilities. The panel members discussed the availability of local resources, the need for estate and special needs planning, the legislative advocacy at the state level, and the perspective of a family facing decisions around health and aging. A recording can be viewed at thinktv.org/move2include-event/. Thank you to the Charles D. Berry Foundation for their generous support of the Move To Include initiative and this event.
able to chat with educators about their experiences using technology in the classroom and what keeps their students excited and engaged. This partnership between educators, WOW!, SOITA and CET has resulted in a community where teachers feel empowered to incorporate new technology into their classrooms. Learn more at SOITA.org.
Thank You to the Luther Family
For more than 15 years, the Luther family has generously offered CET a challenge grant during the June pledge drive. This year, we are excited to announce that this year’s challenge grant has been extended to our entire viewing area. New gifts made to either CET and/or ThinkTV will be matched, dollarfor-dollar, thanks to an extraordinary $50,000 grant offered by The H.B., E.W., and F.R. Luther Charitable Foundation, Fifth Third Bank, N.A., Trustee. Public Media Connect is grateful for this special opportunity as we close our fiscal year on June 30. Thank you to the Luther Family for their generous support!

Our New Mixing Board Features Dante Audio
What does that mean?
Dante Audio from Audinate is a technology that lets people send high-quality sound over computer networks. Think of it like sending a really clear phone call or music streaming over the internet instead of using old-fashioned phone lines or CDs. Traditionally, people would use lots of bulky cables to connect different sound devices, like microphones, speakers, and mixers. This was expensive, time-consuming, and sometimes didn’t work well. With Dante Audio, all of those different devices can be connected with just one network cable.

Also, once everything is connected with Dante Audio, people can easily switch where the sound is going. They can send music to speakers in one room, voices to speakers in another room, and even adjust the volume from a computer. With Dante a microphone or speaker is just another device on a computer network that can be shared, similar to how a printer can be shared by many different computers. It’s extremely fast, reliable and much more universally connectible than other options. We’re excited to be on this new system as part of our Yamaha QL5 thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor..
