SITE PLANS JOLIET COMMUNITY CENTER
The building is a community center that will provide local residents the necessary programs to continue developing a healthier and happier life style. A large space will be provided for visual and performing arts. This auditorium will allow students and local artists to further develop and showcase their art. Also, individuals and study groups will be encouraged to use the building’s variety of private/public developing rooms such as the computer room, conference and multi-purpose rooms. Providing a space for physical activities is crucial to the project; during the long winter months many people stop their outdoor physical activities such as running or simply walking. The risk of slipping and falling on an ice-covered path is very high and dangerous. This community center will provide a large gymnasium with a walk track above it to give people (especially elderly people) the opportunity to continue their physical activities throughout the year. Furthermore, an aesthetically pleasing outdoor space will be developed; this space will provide a calming environment for the new community center and surrounding neighborhood.
