OnOctober30,NEWYAhostedtheHealthcareSteeringCommittee, bringingtogetherdistrictleaders,postsecondarypartners,and industryrepresentativestoidentifybarriersandbrainstormsolutions Thiscollaborativediscussionwilldirectlyleadtonewopportunitiesfor studentsacrosstheregion HealthScienceremainsourlargest programarea,with259studentsearninganaveragewageof$1694 perhour morethananyothercareerclusterinourconsortium

Aswemoveintothesecondquarteroftheschoolyear,I’mfilledwith gratitudefortheincredibleworkhappeningacrosstheNortheastWisconsin YouthApprenticeshipConsortium(NEWYA).Ourcoaches,schools,and businesspartnerscontinuetogoaboveandbeyondtoprovidestudentswith meaningful,hands-onlearningexperiencesthatconnec instructiontoreal-worldcareerpathways.

OnOctober23,KewauneeHighSchool,partneringwithNEWYA,hosteda CareerPanel&ExplorationEventthatconnectedstudentswith professionalsfromawiderangeofindustries ThroughinteractiveQ&A sessions,studentsexploredtwocareerpathsofinterestandgained insightintotheskillsandexperiencesneededforsuccess Withthe supportof32guestspeakers,includingrecentKHSgraduatesBrookelin Chevalier,CalebSchaller,andJordanLamack!Theeventprovided meaningfulexposuretoreal-worldcareerjourneysandhelpedspark interestinfuturepathways
