Staff Showcase MEET THIS WEEK’S VALUED TEAM MEMBER Celebrating 30 years with CESA 7, Amy brings 35 years of audiology experience to her role as Educational Audiologist. She works with students ages 3-21 who use hearing aids and/or cochlear implants, ensuring they have consistent access to sound in their classrooms and school activities.

From fitting remote microphone technology to maintaining and repairing hearing technology, her work directly impacts students’ daily learning experiences. She collaborates with school staff and families to create supportive listening environments tailored to each student’s needs.

The most rewarding part of her career? The smiles and hugs she receives from students-especially when she restores sound by fixing a broken device. After three decades with CESA 7, she remains passionate about helping students hear, connect, and thrive.

District Spotlight – School District of Hilbert BUILDING A STRONG DATA CULTURE TOGETHER

The School District of Hilbert is strengthening its commitment to data-informed decision-making through its partnership with CESA 7 Learning Services. The work began with a summer data retreat where district leaders analyzed WISEdash, NextPath, and state assessment data to identify strengths, growth areas, and clear district priorities. From this analysis, Hilbert established focused goals to improve academic growth in English Language Arts and Mathematics while reducing achievement gaps among student groups.

As the partnership expanded to include all staff, CESA 7 consultants Kim Pencil and Ted Selker supported educators in aligning Student Learning Objectives, deepening PLC data conversations, and developing targeted Tier 2 small-group strategies grounded in student evidence. This collaborative approach has helped move the district from reviewing data to actively using it to shape instruction and monitor progress. As Hilbert’s superintendent, Tony Sweere shared, “CESA 7 helped us to better understand our data through a summer data retreat. Then, with the help of Kim and Ted, our administrative team was able to make a significant jump in creating a data culture in our District. We will be bringing them back for a second year of professional development around the use of our data.”
