CONNECT August 14, 2026

This week, our NEWYA team is excited to celebrate big wins, strong partnerships, and the future of career readiness after an incredible time at the 2026 Wisconsin Career Readiness Summit! Director David Gordon, along with Danielle Wahlen and Adam Strassburg, joined forces with our amazing partners at Emplify Health, Kate Bartell, and Katherine LaJeunesse, to lead an impactful breakout session: "Fostering Futures: Emplify + NEWYA Youth Apprenticeship Partnership". Together, they dove into how businesses and education can collaborate to build meaningful, lasting career pathways for students. NEWYA's School-Based Coach Corey Wollin also took the stage alongside Unified School District of De Pere Counselor Ross Toellner to share how De Pere is bringing career exploration to life through ACP Talks. They highlighted how connecting students with professionals and partners across the greater Green Bay area helps them hear firsthand about real-world career pathways, experiences, and opportunities—and we loved seeing such strong interest in this engaging approach to learning beyond the classroom! To top off an inspiring event, two of our leaders were recognized for their outstanding impact: David Gordon received the Luminary Award, and Kate Bartell earned the Industry Partnership Award. A special shoutout to CESA 7/NEWYA’s Lindsay Allen, who served on the Summit’s Conference Planning Committee for Presentations, collaborating with CTE Coordinators across all 12 CESAs to help bring this statewide event to life!
