Recommended experience Scheduling
3-6 months with the product in a production or lab environment Broadcom certification portal (certmetrics)
One quirk worth knowing before you plan your prep. Broadcom’s study guide says the recommended background is “3-6 months experience working with Symantec Cloud Secure Web Gateway” - not ZTNA itself. Read alongside the badge description, which asks for ZTNA / Secure Access Cloud experience, that line looks like a leftover from a sibling exam. Take it as a signal rather than a rule: the exam sits inside the Symantec SASE family, and Cloud SWG integration is genuinely one of its objectives. Booking runs through the Broadcom certification portal. SECTION 02
What Symantec ZTNA Is, and Who Sits This Exam Symantec ZTNA - still widely called Secure Access Cloud - is described in Broadcom’s %s as “a SaaS solution that enables secure and granular access to any corporate resource hosted on-premises or in the cloud.” It uses Software Defined Perimeter technology to cloak resources so they are invisible to end-user devices and to the Internet, and it authorises continuously on user, device and resource context rather than handing out network-level trust the way a VPN does. That distinction is the exam’s spine. Almost every section is really asking the same question in a different place: who is asking, for which application, from what device, and what exactly should they reach - never “which subnet are they on.”

Broadcom’s own framing of the audience IT professionals using Symantec ZTNA in a Security Operations role. Tested on administering ZTNA features, not on selling or architecting them. Built from training material, product documentation and real-world job scenarios. Three to six months of hands-on time in a production or lab tenant is assumed.
So this is an administrator’s exam. If your day involves onboarding applications, wiring up an IdP, drawing the network security boundary and delegating admin rights, it maps onto work you already do. The rest of Broadcom’s Symantec track sits on the CertFun Broadcom vendor page. SECTION 03
The Eleven Exam Sections Broadcom numbers the sections 101 to 111 and, unlike some vendors, publishes no percentage weightings for them. What it does publish is the objective list, so the chart below counts objectives per section. Treat it as a rough map of emphasis, not as official weighting - a single objective can still carry several questions. 101 SASE Solution Overview

SECTION 04
What the Credential Is Worth The case for this one is not really about Symantec - it is about where remote access is going. Gartner’s much-quoted planning assumption was that “by 2025 at least 70%% of new remote access deployments will rely on ZTNA rather than VPN services,” and the replacement programmes that came out of that forecast are still running. Somebody has to administer the thing that replaced the VPN, and in Symantec shops that somebody is the person holding this certificate. Why this exam, specifically It certifies an operational skill: onboarding apps, policies, connectors, RBAC. The concepts - SDP, continuous authorisation, least privilege - carry to any ZTNA vendor. It sits inside the Symantec SASE family, so it stacks with Cloud SWG and DLP work. No prerequisite exam, and the official course behind it runs two and a half hours.
Be clear-eyed about the fit, though. This is a product administration credential for Symantec estates, not a vendor-neutral zero trust qualification. Where it earns its keep is in an organisation already running Symantec ZTNA - or one migrating to it - and alongside the broader SASE pieces rather than on its own. SECTION 05
Getting Certified, Step by Step 1

250-583 Sample Questions These ten come from CertFun’s 250-583 sample questions page, shown in shuffled order. All are single-answer. Seven of them also appear in Broadcom’s official study guide, and where they do, the answers match - a useful sign that you are revising against the real thing. Notice the mix: a few are pure recall (log format, best-practice limits), the rest test whether you can explain why zero trust access differs from direct connectivity. Q1. Good luck - and keep the zero trust question in your head as you revise. For every feature in the portal, ask what it decides: who the user is, what they may reach, and how you would prove afterwards that only that happened. Answer that, and most of the 75 answer themselves.
