PEOPLE & CULTURE TEAM Team Leader SAMANTHA DOWLING

Assistant to the Executive Director: People & Culture Bendigo Office E: sdowling@ceosand.catholic.edu.au | M: 0434 769 720 Sam Dowling is a qualified HR Professional with 26 + years’ experience spanning a variety of industries such as Hospitality, Banking & Finance, Government, Health, Not for Profit and Professional Services. An inclusive and positive leader who thrives on coaching and mentoring to build capability of others for future success. Experienced in change management, project management, HR systems thinking and operational excellence, she is a leader who advocates for her organisation and the community, connecting people to strategy and building capability in both systems and people, to reduce complexity and develop talent. Sam commenced in January to lead and build the new CES Ltd People & Culture Team.

With a combined experience of more than 60 years in all things people, the team is here to help with varying employee life cycle activities such as recruitment and selection, remuneration, managing and accessing performance, general employee relations, Workcover and OH&S, development, onboarding and induction and succession planning. We also provide support with legal queries, compliance & risk support to schools and the implementation of our new governance frameworks that impact our staff policies.

Provides advice and guidance on OHS matters to ensure compliance with procedures, applicable laws, and standards.

This may include incident reporting and investigation, follow up actions for correction and or improvement and related training (i.e., first aid), monitoring (Auditing) and inspections, emergency response planning and review, non-work-related injury management and

Provide support for work-related injury management including Workcover processes such as developing Return to Work Plans

KIM SAUNDERS

Compliance & Risk Officer Wangaratta Office E: ksaunders@ceosand.catholic.edu.au | M: 0447 457 469 • Provides support to leaders and staff to interpret audit and compliance requirements to reduce and manage risk across all areas of school operations • Provides advice and guidance in the development and implementation of CES Ltd compliance and governance requirements, including assisting in the enhancement and maintenance of the Risk Management Framework • Coordinating and scheduling required compliance communications and/or training for staff along with administering, maintaining, and assisting in the implementation of the compliance system and maintenance of portals Kim previously worked at Galen Catholic College for 8 years, gaining fundamental experience for understanding school complexities, one of her main responsibilities is to provide support in the development and implementation of compliance, raising awareness, training, and continuous improvement. Kim will assist in the monitoring, assessing and identification of risk in schools, developing documentation and relevant policy, processes and registers to support schools in effectively managing compliance and risk.

Employee Relations, Payroll & Human Resources JO TAYLOR

Provides specialist Employment Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR) advice and support to Sandhurst Catholic Schools on a wide variety of matters relating to the employer/employee relationship, including Major Change, Award and Agreement interpretation, performance management and managing complex ER cases and Investigations.

Provides Legal advice and support where required.

Jo joined Catholic Education Sandhurst in 2019 filling the role of Employment Relations Officer and prior to this, she was the HR & Training Manager at Spotless – Bendigo Hospital. In 2009 Jo completed a Bachelor of Education and taught as a primary school teacher before transitioning into the HR field. Jo has been working in the HR space since 2010 across diverse industries, including Health, Agriculture, FMCG, Automotive and Manufacturing.

Jo is available to provide specialist Employment Relations (ER) and Industrial Relations (IR) advice and support to Sandhurst Catholic Schools on a wide variety of matters relating to the employer/employee relationship, including Major Change, Award and Agreement interpretation, performance management and managing complex ER cases and Investigations. SHARON WARREN

Provides general human resources across the employee lifecycle for our CEO teams

Processes the payroll for all CEO staff

•

Works closely with the Principal Consultant team to coordinate the recruitment of Principal appointments and the Principal Appraisal process.

Sharon’s career in Human Resources began as a Medical Workforce Coordinator, where she gained valuable experience in regional, rural, remote and major tertiary hospitals. To formalise her knowledge and skills in human resources she undertook further studies in 2015 and completed a Bachelor of Business (Human Resources) in 2020.

Since joining the Catholic Education Office in April 2019, Sharon has been providing human resources support and is the Payroll Officer for all CEO staff. Her role also extends to CES schools with the coordination of recruitment for Principal appointments and the Principal Appraisal process.
