Based in Canada, Dundee Precious Metals Inc. is an international gold mining company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development, mining and processing of precious metals. T
he company has assembled a growing pipeline of mining and processing projects at a variety of stages of development to fuel growth and maximise the value of Dundee Precious Metals’ existing operational assets. It has certainly come a long way from the company’s foundation in 1983, moving through a series of impressive transformations to become the mining operation it is today. For its first 20 years, the business operated as a closed investment fund with a focus on precious metals. However, in 2003 the business began its journey towards becoming an operating mining company. Today the company operates some key subsidiaries. These are Dundee Precious Metals Chelopech, the owner-operator of a gold, copper and silver mine located east of Sofia, Bulgaria; Dundee Precious Metals Krumovgrad, which is developing a gold property

located in Krumovgrad in southeastern Bulgaria; and Dundee Precious Metals Tsumeb, the operator of Dundee Precious Metals’ concentrate processing facility located in Tsumeb, Namibia. Across all of these divisions of the company, Dundee Precious Metals is generating value by pursuing innovation at every opportunity. It is a founding belief of the company that the mining value chain needs to be transformed through developing, commercialising and applying new and innovative ideas. The company acknowledges that when it comes to adopting digital solutions and information technology the mining industry as a whole has been relatively slow on the uptake. the lid off the mine”. It ensures a transparent flow of information, making more informed and better decision making possible. The first of Dundee Precious Metals’ operations to introduce these concepts was its Chelopech project. From there the company has continued to innovate its business, using technology to create leaner and more efficient processes wherever it can. It’s a report that has announced achievements such as consistently reduced energy and water use, as well as emissions intensity, at the company’s Chelopech operation. This work has been done alongside great strides in developing formidable local workforces at each of Dundee’s sites. Nearly 100% of the company’s workforce is locally sourced, alongside 86% of manager-level and above positions. Dundee Precious Metals continues investing in communities today. Its corporatewide community investment policy focuses on spending on local development informed by dialogue with local leaders. With Dundee’s Krumovgrad Project, the company is now looking to model the very best practice social and environmental management.
