Tara Shaw for Century

“Give up on the idea that your interiors will ever be ‘done’.
It's self-evident when you really think about it– would you wear the same exact outfit for the rest of your life? Why would you want your house to?”
“Bedrooms are a retreat from the rest of the house–and the world–and there’s something incomparably comforting about canopy beds. Instant safe haven.”

Shopping in Europe for ‘one-offs’ has inspired my collection for Century Furniture. Working with factories has helped us achieve this in-depth collection.

The Tara Shaw for Century upholstered sleigh bed and Swedish hand-carved stools make the perfect pairing in a bedroom.

“Always feather your nest with things that are meaningful to you. You should be able to ‘read’ a great house just like a biography.”

The layering of a great antique finish with mid-century is the perfect design cocktail.

“Antique finishes show age and history, blemishes and all. That kind of imperfection is a lovely thing to live with because it’s so forgiving. It’s just what I want to come home to.”
