To help you select the ideal proposals for the needs of your PRACTICE, we have enriched the catalogue with reference to the various age groups of children. Below, you will find a summary of our eyewear design philosophy, which responds, from time to time, to changing needs.
4
EARLY CHILDHOOD 0-2 years The child in this age group has a nasal septum that is not yet formed and needs to wear anatomically correct, stable, soft, light and safe glasses. Active offers only frames made with soft and safe materials to allow movement. It is important that the eyewear always remains stable to ensure the correct maintenance of the optical centre position even when the head rests on a pillow, for example, in the cradle. For this reason, a cord always accompanies Active.
PRE-SCHOOL 2-5 years The nasal septum of children begins to form and in this age group the exploration of the world and the claim of autonomy reign supreme. For this reason, Active respond, in this case, to the need for stability, comfort and lightness to guarantee both the child’s dynamism and the full functionality of the corrective lens.
SCHOOL-AGE 5-10 years The beginning of school leads the child to a greater visual effort and an aesthetic demand projected towards the world of adults. Active are therefore designed with different materials that can always guarantee comfort and lightness. The design takes into account a much more defined structure of the nose and ears.
PRE-TEENS 10-14 years In this phase of life, eyewear begin to define one’s own style, a way of being, becoming a real element of self-definition. This is why the Active aim here to combine the maintenance of the optical centre with aesthetic qualities that recall those of the adult. The breadth of shapes and decorations available to the adolescent becomes fundamental. 5

ACE TATE COLLE CTION from School-Age to Teens
Visual comfort in a soft embrace BACK TO INDEX
137
ACETATE COLLECTION The new collection of frames for the 5 to 16-year-old age group perfectly combines the durability required by younger children with the style and status demands of teenagers. Thanks to the use of innovative High-Density (HD) acetate, the glasses are extremely thin and lightweight, eliminating the feeling of heaviness on the nose and ears typical of traditional models. Furthermore, by retaining the depth of the classic groove (0.50/0.75 mm), the standard technical limitations of slim frames are overcome, ensuring that even thicker lenses can be fitted properly without compromising on aesthetics or visual health.

MYOPIA CONTROL
Myopia is becoming increasingly common among children due to both hereditary factors and increased time spent in close-up activities with the use, above all, of digital devices. It is estimated that 5 billion people, half the global population, could be affected by myopia in 2050. Myopic progression control lenses are used for children aged 6 to 18 years. The defocus in the periphery, created by this special type of lens, reduces the elongation trigger associated with uncorrected myopia or traditional spectacle lenses. The most appropriate models for fitting this type of lens are highlighted with the ‘Myopia Control’ logo both in the catalogue and on the demo lens
Frames suitable for mounting children’s myopia management lenses.
