HINGES

Centro Style hinges are produced with numerically controlled machining processes to ensure the correct measurements in the manufacture of the joints and the threads.

Materials

The hinges are made of two diﬀerent materials, nickel silver and titanium, to guarantee diﬀerent performances according to the resistance and method of application:

• Nickel silver: material commonly used for the production of hinges, ideal for welding.

• Titanium: hypoallergenic technological material used for minimal hinges with a very high resistance, ideal for metal frames.

Types and characteristics

Our hinges are divided into three main families:

• Hidden hinges: in nickel silver, ideal for plastic frames and for flex mechanisms

• Pinned hinges: in nickel silver, ideal for plastic frames and for classic systems

• Solder hinges: in nickel silver or titanium, ideal for metal frames and for classic systems

The three types of hinges are available in a wide range of models, diﬀerent from each other in terms of size, shape, joints, profiles and packaging. They are Made in Europe or in Italy.

Packaging

The hinges are supplied in a modular container, which allows you to join together multiple boxes, each with an integrated lid to facilitate the organization of the lab and for a quick search for the component.

The re-order tag facilitates reordering without possibility of error and the bar code allows inventory control.

Hidden and Pinned hinges in nickel silver for plastic frames:

• The hidden hinges used for plastic frames are shaped with a part called an “anchor” to join to the front or to the temple of the frame.

How to apply: the hinge embedding unit is the ideal tool to insert the hidden hinges and to replace the damaged ones.

• The pinned hinges have two holes to insert the fixing pins.

How to apply: a special tool called “Clavulus” is the ideal tool to remove the broken hinges and to insert the new ones. The nickel silver pins firmly secure the hinge.

Hinges for metal frames: in nickel silver or titanium, to be welded

• Solder hinges are made of nickel silver or titanium. They are available for right or left fronts and for temples.

How to apply: the hinges are welded on the end-piece or on the temples. The welding machine melts the soldering material to join the hinge with the end-piece of the temple.

SCREWS

Centro Style’s screws are machined by lathe to guarantee correct measurement of the threaded part, with superior quality compared to budget screws that are stamped and do not have the same precision for correct pairing between the male and female thread.

Material

The screws are available in two materials : stainless steel and nickel silver to use for diﬀerent applications.

• Stainless steel, a very resistant and hard material used for screws to guarantee a safer frame closure.

• Nickel silver, a softer material than stainless steel which is used for temple screws and areas where there is no excessive force in the closure system.

Typology and features

The screws present specific features based on the diﬀerent types of frame: there are screws specified for frames with flex hinges, in both metal and plastic frames and for rimless.

The range is completed with screws for a specific use, for repair and for the R.B. components with both metric and American thread. They are made in Europe or in Italy.

Packaging

The screws are supplied in a modular container that allows you to join multiple boxes together.

Supplied with an integrated cover on which is printed use information to enable easier organization in the lab and quick checking of components. The re-order label inside the box facilitates ordering the product without the possibility of error whilst the bar code allows inventory control.

Nickel silver and Stainless steel screws for both metal and plastic frames

Wide range of nickel silver screws with specific characteristics are used for the assembling of temples, nose pads and eyewires where there is no closure phase.

Stainless Steel for flex screws

The screws for hinges and flex temples are made in stainless steel and have a conical point to make it easier to assemble flex hinges by aligning the screw holes at the joint. For this reason they are also known as aligned screws. The conical point, when inserted into the hinges can then be easily removed.

Made in Italy.

Screw for Metal Frames

This wide range of screws includes diﬀerent types for a specific use related to work on frames : screws for closing the eyewire, screws for nose pads and temples. Each type is designed for the diﬀering materials, dimensions and for specific details.

Screw for Plastic frames

Contrary to metal frames, plastic frames only require a single type of screw – the ones that are necessary to assemble the temples.

The circle of the lens is fixed and does not require a screw to open or close it like a metal frame and does not require screws for nose pads as the frame fits directly onto the nose. If necessary one can apply adhesive nose pads.

Screws for Rimless Frames

This family of screws is ideal for rimless frames and for diﬀerent lens thickness. They are characterized by much longer lengths, completely threaded. Available in both stainless steel and nickel silver, with diﬀerent shapes of head to enhance rimless frames with aesthetic detail.

The majority of these screws are supplied with the corresponding nuts for rimless frames. The screws are made in Italy.

• Washers, bushes, screw caps and nuts

The metal washers and nuts are produced by lathe machining to ensure the correct measurements especially of the metric pitch of the nuts supplying a higher quality than molded products.

The bushes and the plastic washers are produced from high-quality moulds to maintain the thickness of the sections and ensure eﬀectiveness of use.

Bushes and washers act as bearings between the frames parts used in the rimless assembly to reduce friction, facilitate tightening and avoid contact of the metal parts with the lenses.

The screw caps are made of soft transparent silicone and provide cover to the prominent part of the screw.

SPARE PARTS FOR RIMLESS ASSEMBLY WITH PLASTIC PINS

The plastic pins and metal bridges (in steel or titanium) are produced with high-quality moulds to grant precision and eﬀectiveness of use.

• Plastic pins

They are made of plastic material of diﬀerent hardness: Soft, Medium Soft, Medium Hard and Hard.

The ease of assembly and the resistance in the use of the frame by the end user make them diﬀerent from each other. The choice of the material depends on the lens type and on the optician’s experience in assembly.

Plastic pins are single or double, with or without hollows.

Three kinds of pins are available:

• Double sleeves: they are the classic ones normally used by frame companies and oﬀer a pleasant aesthetic appearance for the frame.

• Hollow double sleeves: they are new generation pins to allow an easy assembly also of very thin lenses or positive lenses with low thicknesses on the sides. Moreover thanks to the hollows it is possible to cut the prominent part of the metal pin after assembling the rimless frame.

• Single sleeves: they are used for special assemblies or when it is not possible to use double sleeves due to a diﬀerent interaxis.

They are Made in Europe, made in Korea and are Reach compliant.

• Bridges

They are available in two sizes (30 and 32 mm) to oﬀer the best fitting and they are available in two diﬀerent materials:

• Steel: very resistant and hard material, it is mainly used for standard rimless frames. Suitable for assembly both with screws and with plastic pins. A wide range of colours with shiny finishing are available.

• Titanium: ultralight material suitable for sensitive and delicate skin. Assembly with plastic double sleeves. The special self-locking shape of the two laser-welded pins guarantees their tightness during use. Reach compliant.

• identify the most suitable performance solution to distribute the weight of the glasses by reducing any discomfort and redness and to ensure the correct position on the face for greater visual well-being and comfort

TEMPLE TIPS

The temple tips are made of silicone or acetate, materials that ensure good comfort and are ideal for those suﬀering from allergies or skin redness.

The non-slip silicone ensures a better grip and adherence of the glasses to the face, while the acetate maintains the colour over time without undergoing the colour variations typical of silicone.

The wide variety of internal diameters makes them suitable for all kinds of temples: from titanium to steel and metal temples.

The range is completed by the cable ends and the frame locks, both ideal for maintaining the correct optical center and retaining the glasses on the face during light sporting activities or games and the temple tip covers that oﬀer higher protection to those suﬀering from allergies or skin redness.

Packaging

They are supplied in an ergonomic modular stackable box, with a lid on which the size of the internal diameter is printed in order to facilitate the organization of the laboratory and a quick search of the spare parts, while the label placed inside is designed to reorder the products without making an error. The barcode facilitates inventory management.

The temples diﬀer from each other and have specific features according to the kind of glasses to which they have to be assembled:

• temples with different joints to be assembled to the different hinges in the frames

• temples for rimless frames complete with end-piece and therefore ready to be assembled on the lens.

They are made of diﬀerent materials (stainless steel, nickel silver, titanium and acetate) with or without flex hinges to guarantee diﬀerent performancesfor all kinds of frames.

The materials with which they are made:

• Stainless steel: very resistant and used for rimless frames with thickness lower than the nickel silver.

• Nickel silver: slightly softer than steel, used for larger temples and especially for

• flex mechanisms.

• Titanium: hypoallergenic technological material used for minimal frames with a

• very high resistance and lightness, ideal for rimless frames.

• Acetate: traditional material made from sheets with nickel silver core for simple

• and long-lasting adjustment.
