WILDERNESS TRAIL DISTILLERY 4095 Lebanon Road, Danville, KY 40422. Take a tour of the Wilderness Trail Distillery and learn about the science behind spirit making through the use of local grains and signature sweet mash fermentation processes. SHINO SHE YES: PORCELAIN POTTERY BY CANDICE HENSLEY ’07 Jones Visual Arts Center, Aegon Gallery. Professional potter Candice Hensley ’07 creates elegant forms in porcelain for everyday use. She glazes these functional forms with celadon and shino, Asian glazes developed thousands of years ago. Her gas reduction kiln brings out the best of the unpredictable shino that traps carbon in black and gray patterns under the glossy glaze surface. Hailing from Stanford, KY, Candice now makes her home and studio in Asheville, NC, where she continues the pottery tradition of that region, adding her own vision and handprint. 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

MCDOWELL HOUSE MUSEUM 125 S. Second Street, across from Constitution Square Historic Site. McDowell House Museum is an 1800s historic house with a fascinating story, an apothecary and two gardens. This National Historic Landmark site is the former home and office of pioneering surgeon Dr. Ephraim McDowell. The museum is furnished and features a wonderful collection of antiques, including early medical equipment. GREAT AMERICAN DOLLHOUSE MUSEUM 344 Swope Drive, just behind campus off of Lexington Avenue. The museum is offering free admission for Centre families. The Great American Dollhouse Museum is a unique educational facility that exhibits American history in miniature. The 6,000-square-foot museum contains over 200 dollhouses and thousands of related miniatures, presented in remarkable detail. The Kentucky Tourism Cabinet honored The Great American Dollhouse Museum by designating it one of Kentucky’s 50 “Only Ones,” meaning that it is a globally unique attraction. The gift shop features a large selection of miniatures. (Several Centre faculty, staff and Centre spouses are the creators of the museum). Free admission. 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.

BOURBON AND BLUEGRASS FESTIVAL Constitution Square Historic Site, 105 E Walnut Street, Danville, KY 40422. Proceeds support the Heart of Danville,
whose mission is to celebrate, preserve, and vitalize downtown Danville. Tickets include two specialty bourbon cocktails or alcohol-free mocktails per person. $35 per person for lawn seating, $500 for premiere table seating for up to 8 people. Children under 12 are free. The perfect city, a decent job, the interesting no-strings-attached relationship, and babysitting a cat, how could that life be hard? In 1990s New York City, we meet Callie, who seems to live contentedly in her life. She has had everything fall in her lap, but what happens when a horrible tragedy propels her on a difficult journey of self-discovery? Content Notification. This show will have topics of prejudice, discrimination, hate crimes, and assault as well as adult language that might not be suitable for all audiences.
