Twenty-fifth Sunday after Pentecost (Green)
Welcome to worship at Central!
In the name of Jesus Christ, welcome to worship at Central where it is our mission to follow Jesus by loving God and loving our neighbors. Our clergy, Rev. Thomas Smith, Rev. Dr. Ann Kovan, and Rev. Meg Jiunnies, are grateful you’ve chosen to make Central a part of your day! Whether it’s your first time worshiping with us or you’re a lifelong member, we welcome any opportunity to speak with you about how to connect with God through Central. If it is your first time with us, please fill out a Connect Card and bring it to the Welcome Center where you will receive a gift from the church. Once again, welcome!
Music Note
The Charles Wesley hymn Love Divine, All Loves Excelling (UMH 384) is included in all major hymnals. The text, written in 1747, was first included in Methodist hymnals in 1786. While its theme deals with the “Sanctification” or “Christian perfection” aspect of Wesley’s theology of holiness, Geoffrey Wainwright writes that “positively formulated, perfection meant for Wesley the pure love of God and neighbor.”
Vocal Recital November 20
Join us on Wednesday, November 20, for a vocal recital featuring two of our Lacy Choral Scholars, Ashlei Jones and Dianna Wilson, accompanied by Dr. Don Grice. The recital will be held in the sanctuary at 6:15 PM and will include such beloved pieces as “I Waited for the Lord” by Felix Mendelssohn and “The King of Love My Shepherd Is” by Harry Rowe Shelley.

Glory Be to the Father COLLECT AND THE LORD’S PRAYER
O Lord Christ, our great high priest who stands in our stead before the throne of grace: Enable us to go from strength to strength; lift us up as we worship; make perfect your gifts in us and grant us the crown of everlasting life; Hear us, O Blessed and holy Trinity, one God for ever and ever. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, we now pray:
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

Take My Life, and Let It Be
Scott Perkins
Take my life, that I may be consecrated, Lord, to thee. Take my moments and my days; let them flow in ceaseless praise. Take my hands and let them move at the impulse of thy love. Take my feet and let them be swift and beautiful for thee. Take my voice and let me sing, always, only for my King. Take my lips and let them be filled with messages from thee. Take my love, my Lord, I pour at thy feet its treasure store. Take myself and I will be ever, only, all for thee. Amen.
