Formed in 1970, Central Alberta Theatre is a registered Canadian Charity providing live theatre experiences for the residents of Red Deer and the surrounding area. CAT operates the Red Deer Memorial Centre, a 700 seat venue, offering live music, theatre, speakers and other entertainment events on behalf of the City of Red Deer.

Glorene has had many years of complete pleasure( after the pain) of theatre with Heartland Arts Troupe in Stettler. What a theatre family!! AND NOW... several productions under her belt with CAT ...and again.. wonderful memories and friendships! Theatre has been a huge part of her life ( productions are a minimum of 8 weeks) and she can't imagine a life without it.
She hopes you get a smile from this play... YES GIRLFRIEND... this script is not far off the mark.
Glorene Ellis, Director Pouf!
Gillian has been a performer since she started playing piano at age four. She majored in music at Red Deer College (now Red Deer Polytechnic) and performed with the Red Deer Royals Marching Showband from 2013 to 2019. Though she's been a lifelong lover of theatre, acting and improv were endeavours she started in adulthood. This is her first Central Alberta Theatre role and she is beyond thrilled to be playing the lead in Pouf! Gillian is passionate about theatre from both the stage and from the audience.
Mary
Alyssa Latimer is playing Mary in Lou Clyde's Pouf! She has been acting for years with previous credits including ConcordFloral (Theatre Junction), The DuchessofMalfi (University of Lethbridge), Invisible (too) (Handsome Alice), and Sylvan Lake's Theatre Trail. Alyssa completed her bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Lethbridge alongside her education degree. When not acting she enjoys directing as HJ Cody's Drama Teacher. This year the students will be performing Alice@Wonderland the musical! She is incredibly excited to be a part of the Central Alberta Theatre 2024/25 season. We are pleased to present and hope you enjoy all the hair-larious antics in Pouf!
Debby has been involved with various Red Deer theatre companies for 25 years. Each role is special to her. She loves playing the Mom, Teresa, in Pouf! Her other passions are watercolour painting, and props. She was also Props person for this show (thanks Glorene). She retired a year and a 1/2 ago and is SO happy to be more free to act, paint and spend more time with her family and friends. She hopes you enjoy the show!
Bryan is thrilled to perform in Pouf! by Lou Clyde with Central Alberta Theatre, marking his third production with the company this season. Earlier this season, he appeared inDracula:Mina’sQuest and MissBennet:ChristmasatPemberley. A graduate of Red Deer College's Theatre Performance and Creation program, Bryan brings extensive experience, including performing in murder mystery productions with "Smoking Gun Entertainment." He also starred in the awardwinning short film WalkWithMe, directed by Ranjit Mullakady.
Suzanne Hermary (she/her) is excited to be back on stage with Central Alberta Theatre. She trained at Red Deer College’s Theatre Studies –Performance program, then graduated with Honours from Sheridan College's Bachelors of Musical Theatre Performance program. She follows her artistic passions and supports arts & culture as Executive Director of Red Deer Arts Council. She’s also The Artsy Traveller, exploring the world and helping others do the same
David has been in countless productions over the last 40 years and his life has been enriched immensely working with so many talented people of all ages over that time. He retired 2 productions prior to this play and means it this time. The director will need to find some other old man for all future adventures.
Lynn has been a CAT member for 20 years+ and has volunteered for many roles which include props, set decor, painting, makeup, backstage, lighting, acting, directing and stage managing. She has enjoyed all these roles and has had the pleasure of working with some awesome people along the way. This play has been so much fun for her to work on - such a great ensemble!

A big thanks to CAT staff who worked hard to redo the lighting grid for the Studio Theatre. It has give our audiences a beautiful experience during our shows this year.
