The Member Show is one of my favorite exhibitions of the entire year. In the spirit of giving, this show gives us the chance to celebrate and thank our artist members who are the creative heart of this organization. We wouldn’t be an art center without you! This exhibition is also an opportunity for our community to discover new artists whose work they may fall in love with.
On my first day at CAE in January of 2020, several sold pieces from the Member Show were waiting to be picked up at the front desk. Having written about so many of our artists during my years as an arts columnist for the Canyon Courier, it felt like coming home to look at the names and artwork I recognized. In that moment I knew I was in the right place. That is what the CAE Member Show feels like every year—like coming home. You’ll recognize familiar names and signature styles. You’ll also meet the new artists who have joined the CAE family over the last year.
One of the best parts of this show is the range: variety of media, variety of voices, and variety of pricing. There is truly artwork for everyone. Plus, there's something special about giving original art as a gift AND supporting local artists in the process. I hope you'll bring your friends, your families, and your neighbors to enjoy this piece of home at CAE.
