A DONOR STORY

Shelby Read Partner And Senior Strategist Rocky Mountain Consulting

Center for the Arts has been a cornerstone of my life in Jackson. As a community member, I’ve attended art openings, musical, dance, and theatrical performances, lectures, trainings, and expanded my horizons by taking classes at Central Wyoming College. Having access to art, music, and other types of creative and independent expression is critical to my ability to live in the rural west.

The Center is a part of my story here in Jackson. My daughter’s first outing—ever— during a lull in the pandemic, involved standing on the stage with other Community Foundation staff to announce the Old Bill’s total in 2021. On another occasion, she and I dug through crates looking for records at the KHOL record sale. The facility is top-notch, but what really takes Center for the Arts to the next level is the staff, programming, Resident Organizations, and community members who are brought together.
