July 22, 2011 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Contact: Gina Paradiso Phone: 719-543-9502 Email: gina@americanvaluescenter.org THE CENTER FOR AMERICAN VALUES HONORS THE HEROES FROM 9/11 AND ALL FIRST RESPONDERS AT FREE EVENT “We Remember To Never Forget: Colorado’s Freedom Celebration.” The Center for American Values in Pueblo will honor 9/11 by hosting nine New York City Fire Fighters at a free community event on the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk on August 6, 2011 from 3:00 to 10:00 p.m. “The event is intended to honor and say ‘thank you’ to all first responders,” says Trish Rooney, Event Organizer, “this includes firefighters, medical professionals, law enforcement and our U.S. Armed Forces. The event, co-hosted by Pueblo City Fire Chief Chris Riley and Pueblo Police Chief Luis Velez, will feature 9/11 first responders from New York and Medal of Honor Recipient Drew Dix. The featured entertainer is Steve Amerson. Amerson has established a reputation as a superior tenor with a vocal flexibility that allows him to feel at home in both popular/contemporary music and classical literature. With the wealth and depth of his performance experience, he is known as America’s Tenor. Amerson is the musical ambassador for the Congressional Medal of Honor Foundation and Society as he sings for their events throughout the United States.

The day will be packed with other entertainment, including an all-you-can-eat Buffalo Wild Wings Blazin’ Challenge, performances by bluegrass favorite Fireweed, cowboy poet Jeff Hildebrandt, Bands of Glory, America’s Music Band, and Overton Road. A special “We Remember” Ceremony at 5:00 p.m. will include a presentation of the colors by the Pueblo Fire Department Honor Guard, speakers Pueblo City Fire Chief Chris Riley, Police Chief Luis Velez and special guest FDNY John Plant. The evening’s grand finale will be a spectacular fireworks show. “We Remember To Never Forget: Colorado’s Freedom Celebration” is a Center for American Values Event presented by Frontier Airlines, Parkview Medical Center, Park West Dental, Waterfront on the Riverwalk, the Media Center and many other community sponsors.
