Riverwalk Welcomes The Center for American Values “Open House Saturday, November 13 from 9am to 4pm” The recently completed Center for American Values is the newest addition to the Riverwalk in Pueblo. The Center is located in the Waterfront building, 101 S. Main St. Suite 100 on the Riverwalk level. A public open house is scheduled for Saturday November 13, 2010 from 9:00am to 4:00pm, the Pueblo Chamber’s ribbon cutting ceremony is scheduled for 11:00am. Free parking is available in the City parking structure on South Main across from the Waterfront. The Center for American Values, Inc. is a non-political organization formed in 2010 for charitable and educational purposes. The Center’s founders identified the need for a national initiative to recognize and preserve the values our great country was founded on. Visitors can tour the Center and learn more about the facility’s state of the art meeting space and educational programs. This event will mark the first public showing of the Portraits of Valor display, a photographic collection of over 140 Medal of Honor recipients. The portraits include the four Medal of Honor recipients from Pueblo. The visionary and co-founder for the Center for American Values is Medal of Honor recipient Drew Dix whose hometown is Pueblo. It was Dix’s deep commitment to America that became the Center’s mission. The mission stems from his personal desire for all generations to understand and never lose sight of the countless sacrifices made.
