Among the mentors will be a VIP Mystery Mentor who was recently announced as Isaac Slade, Lead Vocalist of the Grammy nominated American Rock Band, The Fray. Other mentors working with the Center include: Dr. Luis Velez, Pueblo Chief of Police; Jane Rawlings, Pueblo Chieftain Assistant Publisher; Patty Erjavec, Pueblo Community College President; James Jarman, KRDO Newschannel 13 Anchor; John Wristen, CSU-Pueblo Football Coach; and Drew Dix, Center Co-founder and Medal of Honor Recipient. The Center hopes to raise funds through the auction to support their educational outreach efforts planned for 2014. The exciting accomplishments of the past year, and the goals set for the coming year will be addressed at the reception, which is free and open to the public. “We are extremely excited to announce our VIP Mentor as Isaac Slade from the Fray” said Dalton Sprouse, Center COO. “Although Isaac will not be in attendance during the auction, we believe this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for someone in our community to spend the day with Isaac to learn more about him, the entertainment industry, his philanthropic endeavors, and the music he shares with the world.” Although there is no cost to attend, the Center will encourage competitive bidding from those present. Winning bidders can pair up a student of their choice with the mentor or choose to engage with their “Mentor for a Day” themselves. The Center for American Values is located on the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk in Pueblo, Colorado at 101 South Main Street. The Center is a nonprofit non-political organization formed in 2010 for charitable and educational purposes. The Center’s founders identified the need for a national initiative to recognize and preserve the values on which our great country was founded.
