ROCK ‘N STEEL EVENT TO INCLUDE PREVIEW OF WAR REPORTER ALEX QUADE’S “HORSE SOLDIERS OF 9/11” Gary Sinise narrates documentary of first American troops on the ground in Afghanistan following the 9/11 terror attacks As part of its “Rock ‘N Steel” event of Friday, May 18, the Center for American Values will present a private screening of war reporter Alex Quade’s documentary, “Horse Soldiers of 9/11.” The film showcases the first American U.S. Special Operations Forces in Afghanistan following 9/11 doing something no American military had done in nearly a century: ride horses into combat. Narrated by award-winning actor and Center supporter, Gary Sinise, the film highlights America’s first responders overseas and their courage of being the first into battle. Alex Quade’s film will receive its national debut Sunday, May 20 at the GI Film Festival in Washington, DC and will be shown to the public in the Center at a time to be announced (details of Center showings available at www.americanvaluescenter.org). This Friday at 6:00pm, the Center for American Values in Pueblo, CO will dedicate the World Trade Center Steel Memorial on Pueblo’s “Walk of Valor.” The six-foot, 500-pound steel was donated to the Center by the New York City Fire Department (FDNY). The memorial will be placed on permanent display just outside the Center’s doors adjacent to the Riverwalk and serves as a reminder of the lives lost on September 11, 2001 and honors the heroic efforts of first responders involved in the tragedy. War Reporter Alex Quade, who covers U.S. Special Operations Forces on combat missions, will MC the event. She is the recipient of the Congressional Medal of Honor Society’s “Tex McCrary Award for Excellence in Journalism” for her reporting. Following the memorial unveiling, the Lt. Dan Band featuring Sinise, will be performing a free, outdoor concert at 8:00pm at the Cooper Tires Stage, 1st Street and Union Avenue (parking lot between Vectra Bank and SRDA). Friday is the opening day of Wild, Wild, West Fest, an annual, western-themed street festival on the Riverwalk/Union Avenue Historic District of downtown Pueblo. ===================================================================================== Located on the Riverwalk in Pueblo, CO, the Center for American Values, Inc.
