National Western Stock Show 2013 Center for American Values Cowboy Ethics Art Contest As an important part of the 2013 National Western Stock Show (NWSS), the Center for American Values (CAV) is sponsoring a Cowboy Ethics Art Competition for competing exhibitors. The competition promotes the goals of the CAV which is built upon our three core values of Honor, Integrity, and Patriotism. We believe strongly in the values of Cowboy Ethics and are asking participants to portray how cowboy ethics have played a role in their personal life. Participants are encouraged to submit original artwork that portrays the Western Lifestyle and the life events that have helped shape their character and responsibilities to family, community, and country. This contest is being held in conjunction with the annual 2013 NWSS in Denver, Colorado. The winning entry from the Juniors and Intermediate will receive $250, and the winning entry from the Seniors will receive $500 from the CAV along with an invitation to attend our Annual Anniversary Dinner in traditionally held in November. All qualifying entries will be displayed at select events throughout the year held within the CAV. Only 2013 NWSS Exhibitors may compete. A student release form must be attached to the art work submitted (attached). All artworks must be original and may not violate any U.S. copyright laws. Students are encouraged to incorporate Cowboy Values as a theme. All artwork must be two-dimensional. Acceptable categories include: Paintings, Drawings, Collage, Prints, Mixed Media, Computer generated art, and Photography. Artwork Release We, the undersigned, represent that the art entry described above is an original work of authorship personally created by the undersigned student to which the student is entitled copyright protection. In consideration for the acceptance of the art entry by the Center for American Values Committee and intending to be legally bound hereby, the undersigned grant the this organization the right to publicly display the art entry, if it is selected for display for a period of one year from the latest date on this form. The undersigned acknowledge that the final decision regarding the suitability of an art entry to be displayed on behalf of the Host Committee will be made by that governing body. The undersigned also grant the Center for American Values, their employees and agents, and the Conference Host Committee the right to reproduce the art entry for any noncommercial purpose, specifically the right to include or authorize the inclusion of the art entry in a compilation or derivative work in any form, including, but not limited to, book, pamphlet, website, or electronic format, for the benefit of the Society or museum.
