National Western Stock Show 2013 Center for American Values Cowboy Ethics Art Contest As an important part of the 2013 National Western Stock Show (NWSS), the Center for American Values (CAV) is sponsoring a Cowboy Ethics Art Competition for competing exhibitors. The competition promotes the goals of the CAV which is built upon our three core values of Honor, Integrity, and Patriotism. We believe strongly in the values of Cowboy Ethics and are asking participants to portray how cowboy ethics have played a role in their personal life. Participants are encouraged to submit original artwork that portrays the Western Lifestyle and the life events that have helped shape their character and responsibilities to family, community, and country. This contest is being held in conjunction with the annual 2013 NWSS in Denver, Colorado. The winning entry from the Juniors and Intermediate will receive $250, and the winning entry from the Seniors will receive $500 from the CAV along with an invitation to attend our Annual Anniversary Dinner in traditionally held in November. All qualifying entries will be displayed at select events throughout the year held within the CAV. Only 2013 NWSS Exhibitors may compete. A student release form must be attached to the art work submitted (attached). All artworks must be original and may not violate any U.S. copyright laws. Students are encouraged to incorporate Cowboy Values as a theme. All artwork must be two-dimensional. Acceptable categories include: Paintings, Drawings, Collage, Prints, Mixed Media, Computer generated art, and Photography.
