Center for American Values to Host Second Annual JROTC Color Guard Competition (Pueblo, CO, Home of Heroes) The Center for American Values is proud to announce our second annual JROTC Color Guard Competition to be held on Saturday, November 8th. The JROTC competition will be in conjunction with kick off of the Veterans Day weekend and the Center’s 4th anniversary. The 2013 Veterans Day Parade showcased a remarkable increase in student participation with multiple JROTC teams from regional high schools. This year the Center expects to grow on that tradition and looks forward to the Color Guard Competition following the parade located in the Pueblo Convention Center overflow parking lot. The drill meet will begin at 11:45 a.m. and will be judged by officials from the Colorado National Guard. An awards ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. in the Center for American Values where Medal of Honor recipient, Drew Dix, will present awards. All events and activities are free and open to the public. To celebrate the Center’s 4 year anniversary come join us for free hot dogs and apple pie from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. while supplies last. “Anyone attending the parade or color guard competition is welcome to stop in for a free meal at the Center for American Values” said Dalton Sprouse, Center COO.
“As we continue to promote honor, integrity and patriotism, we are so proud to feature these great young students who work so hard in their JROTC programs” Spouse added. “This is a great way for us to celebrate our anniversary in our community.” The Center for American Values is located on the Historic Arkansas Riverwalk in Pueblo, Colorado at 101 South Main Street. The Center is a nonprofit nonpolitical organization formed in 2010 for charitable and educational purposes. The Center’s founders identified the need for a national initiative to recognize and preserve the values on which our great country was founded. ###
