DOVE HUNTING SEASON UNDERWAY IN CELINA

Dove hunting season in Texas runs from September 1 through November 10. As the season begins, the City of Celina encourages all hunters to prioritize safety, responsibility, and respect for the community and surrounding land. The Celina Police Department has been actively posting reminders and guidelines on social media to ensure residents and hunters are informed. Key considerations for a safe and compliant hunting experience include:

• Hunting Hours: From half an hour before sunrise until sunset.

• Land Requirements: Hunting must take place on a minimum of 10 acres of property.

• Licensing: Hunters must possess a valid hunting license, a Migratory Game Bird stamp, HIP certification, and Hunter Education certification (for individuals born on or after September 1, 1971).

• Safety Regulations: Firearms may not be discharged across property lines, public roads, or within corporate city limits unless the property meets the 10-acre minimum requirement.

The City appreciates the diligence of our hunting community in following these safety practices, helping to ensure Celina remains a safe and enjoyable place to live, work, and experience the outdoors. We wish all hunters a safe and successful season.
