SHOP LOCAL AND CONNECT ON THE DOWNTOWN SQUARE
Celina’s Friday Night Market is a community favorite that brings people together to celebrate local living in the heart of our historic Downtown Square. The event takes place from 6:00 - 9:00 PM and features a variety of vendors offering homemade, handmade, and homegrown goods - highlighting the talent and creativity of our residents.
Guests can enjoy live music, shop for unique items, and savor food from local restaurants, all in a welcoming, family-friendly environment. This month, we’re excited to feature singer Jessica Maeve, whose soulful performance will enhance the festive atmosphere. Staff is currently monitoring weather conditions and will provide updates on the status of tomorrow’s event to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all.
CINCO DE MAYO CELEBRATION RETURNS TO DOWNTOWN CELINA
The City of Celina, in partnership with El Puente de Celina, invites the community to a vibrant Cinco de Mayo celebration on the Downtown Square from 2:00 - 9:00 PM. This annual event honors Mexico’s 1862 victory over the Second French Empire and brings residents together in a joyful celebration of culture and community.
The event will feature live music, folkloric dancing, authentic cuisine, artisan vendors, and family-friendly activities. All net proceeds support scholarships for Celina High School students, helping invest in the next generation of leaders. We look forward to welcoming residents and visitors alike for a day filled with culture, flavor, and hometown pride.
TRAFFIC SIGNAL UPDATE: FM 1385 AND FM 428
The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has informed the City of Celina of an updated schedule for the activation of the new traffic signal at the intersection of FM 1385 and FM 428. The flash mode and full signal activation, which were initially scheduled for last week, have been delayed due to weather conditions and technical issues.
The revised schedule is as follows:
• Flash Mode Activation: Friday, May 9
• Full Signal Activation: Monday, May 12

Congratulations to the Marketing & Communications Department for earning 11 prestigious Hermes Creative Awards. This outstanding accomplishment highlights the team’s dedication to excellence in public communication, storytelling, and brand engagement.
The Hermes Creative Awards is one of the oldest and largest creative competitions in the world, sponsored by the Association of Marketing & Communication Professionals (AMCP). The competition honors creative professionals across a wide range of industries, from individuals and boutique agencies to media conglomerates and Fortune 500 companies. This year, thousands of entries were submitted from across the country and more than 35 countries worldwide. This recognition reflects the City’s ongoing commitment to innovative and effective communication that strengthens community connection and enhances Celina’s reputation as a dynamic and forward-thinking city.
