REMINDER: EVENTS IN CELINA THIS WEEKEND

This is a reminder about the upcoming events taking place in the City this weekend. The Fire Station #3 Open House will be held on Saturday, March 15, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. In addition, as part of our continued efforts to enhance community engagement, we will be combining our City Council outreach with the Public Safety open houses, which will replace the standalone Coffee with Council events. Later that day, Methodist Celina Medical Center will host its Community Grand Opening from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Shuttles will be available from Old Celina Park throughout the event to accommodate attendees. We look forward to seeing you there.

COMMUNITY-WIDE EASTER EGG HUNT TRANSITIONS TO CHURCH EVENTS

For the past few years, Old Celina Park has hosted the annual community-wide Easter Egg Hunt. However, due to the event’s significant growth and the logistical challenges it presents, local churches have decided to host individual Easter Egg Hunts at their respective locations instead of participating in the community-wide event. This decision allows each church to better accommodate their congregations and provide a more manageable and enjoyable experience.

CITY TO UNVEIL ITS REDESIGNED WEBSITE NEXT WEEK

On Tuesday, March 18, the City will launch its newly-redesigned website, focusing on enhancing communication and improving the user experience for residents. This comprehensive overhaul will improve accessibility, speed,

and efficiency, with an intuitive layout that allows users to quickly find key information, such as utility billing details, upcoming events, and important City news. The site is optimized for mobile devices, ensuring easy access on smartphones and tablets, reflecting Celina’s commitment to meeting the needs of its tech-savvy community.

CITY TO REPLACE DOWNTOWN ROOFTOP LIGHTS

The City is in the process of replacing the white lights along the rooftops of several Downtown buildings. During the quarterly inspection and maintenance of the lights, the City’s lighting contractor identified signs of deterioration and recommended replacement. These lights have been in place for over five years and remain on yearround, resulting in wear from exposure to UV light and weather conditions.

As a result, the lights have been turned off due to this deterioration, though some buildings may still be lit due to their own roof line lights. New lights have been ordered and will be installed by the City’s electrical contractor by the end of the first week of April. Given that these lights are installed on multiple private buildings with various owners and business operators, certain portions of the project may experience delays due to access coordination. City staff will be reaching out to property owners and business operators to inform them of the work, and will also collaborate with those where lights have not been previously installed to ensure greater uniformity across Downtown buildings.

Key milestones were achieved in infrastructure development, with continued work on the dam, reservoir, and surrounding facilities.
