SUNSET BLVD PROJECT ADVANCES TO ROADWAY PHASE
Significant progress has been made on the Sunset Boulevard improvement project. All sewer and drainage infrastructure has been successfully completed, marking a key milestone in the project timeline. Construction has now advanced to the roadway excavation phase, which involves the removal of the existing roadway surface and the installation of subgrade material in preparation for new asphalt paving.
To safely facilitate continued traffic flow during construction, temporary traffic signals have been installed to support one-way traffic operations. These signals are currently active at the east end of Sunset Blvd and at the intersection of Coit Rd and Sunset Blvd. The project remains on schedule, with ongoing coordination to minimize disruptions while ensuring long-term improvements to this critical roadway corridor.

CULVERT REPLACEMENT SET TO BEGIN ON N. LOUISIANA DR
A few months ago, a culvert on N. Louisiana Dr between County Road 95 and E. Malone St required immediate attention due to structural concerns. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) maintenance crew performed a temporary repair to ensure continued traffic flow while a permanent replacement was planned and bid. That bidding process is now complete, and construction is scheduled to begin on July 14.
To accommodate the work, a section of N. Louisiana Dr will be closed for approximately one month, with traffic detoured via State Highway 289 (SH 289). The contractor has been made aware that Celina ISD begins its school year on August 13, and it is imperative that access to the roadway be restored by that time.
