DOWNTOWN CENTER GROUNDBREAKING EVENT SET FOR TUESDAY, OCTOBER 15
We are excited to host the Downtown Center Groundbreaking Event on Tuesday, October 15, at 10:00 AM, adjacent to the City Council Chambers. This past week, the Downtown Police Station was demolished, and the area is being cleared in preparation for this significant event. This groundbreaking marks a momentous occasion for the City, symbolizing the next phase in the evolution of our Downtown and the continued growth of our community. We look forward to celebrating this milestone together.
TROUBADOUR FESTIVAL: UPDATE ON PREPARATION & PARKING
The Troubadour Festival will begin setting up at Old Celina Park this week in preparation for Saturday’s event, a premier attraction featuring live music and BBQ. This event will bring a series of performances and experiences that are expected to draw significant attendance. Troubadour Festival event organizers and First United Methodist Church have agreed to provide additional parking in the field next to the church for attendees. A professional parking management company, experienced with major concerts and sporting events in the area, has been hired to oversee parking logistics. Additionally, the Troubadour Festival, the parking company, Police, and the Special Events team have developed a comprehensive traffic management plan for the area. We look forward to an exciting and well-organized event that will provide a memorable experience for all.
RECAP OF OUR FINAL CLEAN SWEEP EVENT OF THE YEAR
Last Saturday, the Public Works Department successfully hosted its final Clean Sweep event of the year. A total of 356 cars and 183 trailers passed through, with residents dropping off trash, hazardous household waste, electronics, and more. We extend our sincere thanks to the Public Works team and their partners for helping our residents clean up, shred paper, donate, and safely dispose of their waste. In addition, free trees were distributed to the first 150 attendees, making this event not only impactful for our community but also environmentally

FIRE DEPARTMENT C-TOWN LAFS PROGRAM VISIT O’DELL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
The Celina Fire Department’s C-Town LAFS Program kicked off this month, with firefighters Terry Anderson (Tiny) and Charles Vowles (Bubba) visiting O’Dell Elementary School to educate students about smoke alarms as part of Fire Prevention Month. Throughout the month, they will continue visiting other elementary schools to teach students essential fire safety lessons. These include installing smoke alarms in every bedroom, outside each sleeping area, and on every level of the home, including the basement. They also emphasize the importance of testing smoke alarms monthly by pressing the test button, replacing batteries every six months, and replacing smoke alarms every 10 years or if they no longer respond to testing.

SCHEDULE CHANGE: EDC BUSINESS QUARTERLY MEETING MOVED TO OCTOBER 31
Please note that the EDC Quarterly Business Meeting has been rescheduled from Thursday, October 17, to Thursday, October 31, at 9:00 AM in the City Council Chambers. At this meeting, representatives from Swinerton will join us to discuss the construction schedule for the Downtown Center with local business owners. Additionally, the first Coffee with the Contractors event, originally set for Thursday, November 7, has been moved to Thursday, December 5. This adjustment allows for better event spacing, as we anticipate similar attendance at both the EDC meeting and the Coffee with the Contractors. Following this, Coffee with the Contractors will take place monthly, starting on December 5.
DALLAS NORTH TOLLWAY PHASE 4A PROJECT: LANE CLOSURE NOTIFICATION
For the ongoing work on the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) Phase 4A Project, contractors will implement lane closures next week. These closures will facilitate the transport of topsoil, a mass haul of materials, and the cleaning of the area. It is important to note that the entire left lanes will not be closed, and closures will only occur at the construction exits as necessary. NTTA has approved these closures on the condition that they are used solely for hauling purposes and that the Dallas Parkway is kept clean at all times.
Monday, October 14, through Saturday, October 19, from 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM
• Northbound and southbound left lanes of Dallas Parkway from First Street to FM 428
