DOWNTOWN CELINA GOLF TOURNAMENT IS THIS TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1

The City of Celina is excited to host the 31st Annual HBA Downtown Celina Golf Tournament on Tuesday, October 1, at Stonebridge Ranch Country Club - The Ranch (Hills Course). Player check-in will begin at 10:30 AM, followed by lunch at 11:00 AM, with the tournament officially starting at 12:00 PM. At the conclusion of the tournament, an awards banquet will be held at 5:00 PM to celebrate the participants and recognize outstanding performances. With 144 participants and 36 teams, this year’s tournament is fully booked, promising to be an exciting and memorable event. Additionally, a special EDC Golf Tournament Pre-Event Party will take place on Monday, September 30, from 5:00 - 7:00 PM at Little Wooden Penguin.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT IS TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1, FROM 6:00 - 9:00 PM

On Tuesday, October 1, from 6:00 - 9:00 PM, Celina will host National Night Out on the Downtown Square, along with several additional events held in neighborhoods across the City. This special evening allows our Police Officers to travel throughout the community, meeting with residents and strengthening the relationships that are essential to public safety. National Night Out is an invaluable opportunity for our officers to connect with the people they serve, building trust and fostering a sense of unity. As a community-building experience, it highlights the importance of collaboration between law enforcement and residents in creating a safer, more engaged City.

DOWNTOWN CENTER: UPDATE FOR NEXT WEEK

This past week, our Police and Fire Departments utilized the Downtown Police Station and modulars for essential training exercises. With the completion of these activities, Swinerton is now set to fence off the area in preparation for the new Downtown Center. The process of disassembling the modulars and the Downtown Police Station will begin shortly as we advance this important project. Additionally, the City will be sending out invitations on Monday, September 30, for the Downtown Center Groundbreaking.

SPECIAL GUESTS STOP BY THE CELINA POLICE HEADQUARTERS

Jonas and Celina, both Police Officers from Germany, recently visited the Celina Police Headquarters as part of their road trip across the United States, from San Francisco to Miami. While traveling through Texas, they discovered the name of our city, which of course shares the same name as Celina, sparking their curiosity. This led them to our Police Department, where Chief Cullison had the pleasure of striking up a conversation with them. Our Police Officers spent about an hour giving them a tour of the facility, exchanging gifts, and enjoying meaningful discussions. It was an excellent experience for both our staff and our guests, who were deeply impressed with our Texas hospitality and expressed their gratitude for the warm welcome.

DALLAS NORTH TOLLWAY PHASE 4A PROJECT: LANE CLOSURE NOTIFICATION

For the ongoing work on the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) Phase 4A Project, contractors will implement lane closures next week. These closures will facilitate the transport of topsoil, a mass haul of materials, and the cleaning of the area. It is important to note that the entire left lanes will not be closed, and closures will only occur at the construction exits as necessary. NTTA has approved these closures on the condition that they are used solely for hauling purposes and that the Dallas Parkway is kept clean at all times.

Monday, September 30, through Saturday, October 5, from 6:30 AM - 6:30 PM

• Northbound and southbound left lanes of Dallas Parkway from First Street to FM 428
