The 2024 City of Celina Community Survey is a pivotal opportunity for residents to actively participate in shaping the future of our City. By dedicating just 15 minutes to complete this survey, residents can ensure that their voices are heard and that their concerns, ideas, and priorities are considered by City leadership. THE ANNUAL STREET MAINTENANCE PROJECT BEGINS MONDAY, JULY 8
The City of Celina will commence its annual street maintenance project for 2024. The contractor is scheduled to mobilize to S. Georgia on July 8, 2024, to begin the water line replacement. Once this phase is completed, work will commence on the full depth restoration of the roadway between Cedar St. and Ash St. This phase of the project is expected to conclude by the end of July.
During this period, residents may notice locate flags placed in their yards. We kindly request that residents refrain from removing these flags, as doing so could potentially cause delays in completing the work in the area.
Additionally, the City advises residents to exercise caution when traveling through these areas while repairs are underway. The goal is to complete these necessary improvements as efficiently as possible.
UTRWD STAGE 1 WATER CONTINGENCY UPDATE
As part of the City’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable water usage, we recently initiated another water conservation outreach within the community. Residents may have noticed new water conservation signs installed at various locations around the City. These signs provide important guidelines designed to help preserve our vital water resources.
One of the key measures being implemented is a strict watering schedule to ensure efficient water usage. The guidelines are as follows:
• Lawn watering is permitted a maximum of twice a week.
• Watering is prohibited between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM to reduce evaporation.
With rising temperatures, our collective water usage increases, making mindful consumption crucial. Overwatering not only depletes our water resources but also places stress on the City’s infrastructure and environment. These conservation guidelines are in place to promote efficient water use and ensure our community remains resilient and sustainable during the hot summer months.
The City urges all residents to take these guidelines seriously and ensure their irrigation systems are set to the appropriate watering days and times. Responsible water use today will help prevent the need for stricter measures in the future, safeguarding our water supply for the long term.
