WASTEWATER WINTER AVERAGE RECALCULATION
Winter Averaging months are over! Winter Quarter Averaging is a method of stabilizing your sewer rate by calculating average sewer usage for the next 12 months. This is done by taking your water usage during the winter months and averaging those four months which becomes your set sewer usage for the next 12 months. Winter averaging started November 18, 2023, and ended on March 18, 2024. The updated average will be applied to next month’s bill due on May 10, 2024. If you have any questions concerning Winter Averaging, please contact the Utility Customer Service Department at UB@celina-tx.gov.
STREET DEDICATION CEREMONY FOR OFFICER STEVE NOTHEM
On Saturday, March 9th, our community came together to honor the memory of fallen officer, Steve Nothem. While Officer Nothem was a beloved member of the Carrollton Texas Police Department, he called Celina home.
In a moving Street Dedication Ceremony, we dedicated Nothem Way in his name. We were joined by Officer Nothem’s family & friends, the Carrollton Police Department, Carrollton Texas Fire Rescue, Celina Fire Department, and members of the Sutton Fields community. This street will forever serve as a reminder of Officer Nothem’s courage, dedication, and the immense sacrifice he made in the line of duty on October 18, 2022. Our thoughts remain with Officer Nothem’s family, friends, and fellow officers. May he rest in peace, and may his memory continue to inspire us all.

FIRE DEPARTMENT
Artist Odessa Helm began work on the mural at Fire Station #3 Monday, March 11. The installation began as a four-hour sketch of the full design and is gradually coming to life through paint and vibrant colors. The concept includes the Fire Department’s two vintage fire trucks, portions of Downtown including the old siren used to call volunteers to service, and two larger than life firefighters strategically placed in the middle for photo ops. Odessa welcomes visitors during her process (expected to take 14 painting days) and will be on-site whenever it’s not raining. Stop by to observe and talk to Odessa from now through the end of March.
