FRIDAY NIGHT MARKET BEGINS ON FRIDAY, MARCH 1

The City of Celina will be hosting its first Friday Night Market presented by Amavi Celina on Friday, March 1, from 6:00 - 9:00 PM on the Downtown Square. At the heart of Friday Night Market lies a celebration of craftsmanship and local ingenuity, as vendors proudly exhibit their handmade, homemade, and homegrown offerings, promising attendees an unparalleled shopping experience. These markets serve as a vibrant platform for a diverse array of vendors, including local farmers, artisans, crafters, ranchers, vineyards, and more set in the historic Downtown Square. Admission to the market is free of charge to the public, inviting all to partake in supporting the entrepreneurial spirit while immersing themselves in the lively atmosphere complemented by live musical performances on the Texas Republic Bank stage.

SPECIAL RECOGNITION TO TRENT LANDRY, BUILDING INSPECTOR

Last week, Building Inspector Trent Landry extinguished a grass fire with some quick ingenuity and creativity. While out on an inspection at another residence, Landry saw a grass fire occur at 2005 Stonebrook Street. Landry responded quickly and activated the irrigation systems at 2005 and 2009 Stonebrook Street, which helped quickly extinguish and control the majority of the fire until the Fire Department arrived at the scene. The quick actions of Landry helped control the situation that could have been a lot worse. This was a true embodiment of the values and teamwork we strive for here in the City of Celina.

POLICE DEPARTMENT

This past week, the Celina Police Department recently held a two-day leadership retreat for our police supervisors with a goal of enhancing our leaders skills to continuously improve our ability to serve and protect our community. The goal of the retreat is to nurture each supervisor as police leaders, to spend time together focused on enriching our leadership abilities, and to better prepare each of us to lead our teams every day.
