On Friday, March 13, Celebrity Series announced the cancellation of remaining performances for the 2019/20 season due to COVID-19, including the annual SHINE! Gala, receptions, and other gatherings. Faced with the challenge of pivoting our mission of delivering live performance to a virtual space, Celebrity Series developed a suite of digital offerings to bring the joy of performance into the homes of our patrons.

CELEBRITY SERIES AT HOME
NEIGHBORHOOD ARTS COMMUNITY CONCERTS
Celebrity Series launched a series of Thursday evening Neighborhood Arts livestream concerts on Facebook Live and YouTube. This concert series not only provided a vital lifeline for Boston-based artists, many of whom saw a year’s worth of gig work disappear in less than a week, but also garnered more than 40,000 views across both social media platforms.

Through our Celebrity Series at Home weekly newsletter, we provided specially curated digital content from 43 of our cancelled 2019/20 artists or ensembles in a weekly digest to more than 50,000 households.
