What’re You Up to Now: I’ve toured the country with music, have released 3 studio albums with 2 singles that went to radio and billboard charts, got married in October of 2021 and working on new music for 2024. Growing up in New Sewickley I still have a love for animals and horse back riding, fishing, and walking/ biking trails. I do my best to support local causes and charities as well as veterans and veteran owned businesses. I graduated from Freedom, attended Slippery Rock University and Majored in Music education. After graduation I was hired by the Ridgway Area School District, in Ridgway Pennsylvania, where I have been working for the past 27 years. As a performer, I have performed the roll of Samuel Phillips in the Million Dollar Quartet, Pseudolus in A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum in 2003 and 2017 and numerous other Stephen Sondheim shows. While in Ridgway, I have directed over 250 shows such as, Les Miserable 2004, Jesus Christ Superstar 2003 and 2016, Newsies 2019, Chicago 2005 and 2018, and Cats in 2017, just to name a few. In 1994 I sang as a soloist with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Marvin Hamlish. In 2020 I was a quarter finalist for the Grammy’s teacher of the year. I am the father of one son, Ethan Phipps, who is a senior at Penn State for Mechanical Engineering. He is also musical inclined. He performed as a snare drummer in the Penn State Blue Band. He sings with Penn State’s premier A cappella group, Coda Conduct. Currently, I am entering the business world with my new entrepreneurial adventure as the owner of the Brew Bank Micro Brewery and The Sleepy Man Hotel. When the Brew Bank was a Bank it was ran by Taylor Swift’s grandfather, Archie Dean Swift.
