I got the idea to create this project while I was building a real scale outhouse in my woodshop class. While looking at the blueprints I thought of making a miniature. I had leftover popsicle sticks and thought I could put them to good use.

This project was made as an upgrade from the outhouse model. This model was larger, sturdier and more precise than my previous attempt while all being entirely designed myself.

Scale and Design

The scale for the length of all the pieces was determined by multiplying the measurements (in feet) by 0.7. The result would be converted 1 for 1 from feet to inches. However, the width and thickness of all the pieces are not to scale. The width and height of the pieces are meant to replicate 2” x 4” planks. These were the planks used in blueprints (two pages are featured on the right) which were the baseline to create the entire project.
