On the 27th of November, 2024, the TCU Auditorium was filled with ear-deafening cheers during the celebration of the College of Education's 15th Founding Anniversary, as the participants from the four (4) programs competed for the title of becoming the next champion of CED Idol 2024.
Upon careful deliberation by the judges namely Mary Grace Navaluna, Marco Betoya, Ruzzel Bart Teylan, and JM Yosures, the contestant, Marjorie Anne Guaves, from Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Science (BSE-SCI), was declared champion after captivating the masses and blazing the stage with her groovy-angst mix rendition of the famous hit, Bulong by Kitchie Nadal.

Following her was Ms. Bethany Malubay who obtained first (1st) place with her electrifying performance of Nosi Balasi by Sampaguita, Ms. Violyn Tingson who obtained second (2nd) place with her solemn and enchanting rendition of Ikaw ay Ako by Klarisse De Guzman, and lastly, Mr. Mark Joshua Nabor, who performed Ang Huling El Bimbo by Eraserheads, securing himself the third (3rd) place.

Overall, the event really bewitched us, the whole CED student body, including the judges, administrators, and faculty members, with its lively and mystifying ambience that pulled heartstrings and rocked the soul out of everyone. The participants also showed and proved why CED is not to be reckoned with, and even in the battle of voices, melody, and harmonies, we are the real home of the champions!
Excitement filled the atmosphere, buzzing with energy and eager anticipation. On the afternoon of November 27, 2024, Taguig City University’s Auditorium was alive with electrifying energy as the College of Education showcased its highly anticipated hip-hop dance competition. Despite the chilly air that enveloped the venue, the dancers transformed the stage into a fiery battlefield, igniting the excitement of the cheering crowd.
The competition was intense as each group, representing their respective programs, delivered powerful performances that showcased weeks of dedicated practice and creative choreography. The audience, a sea of enthusiastic CED students, erupted in cheers with every sharp move and perfectly timed beat.
One group, however, stole the spotlight. Claiming the ultimate victory was Sci-Pher Crew, led by the dynamic Sthean Jan, proudly representing NUCLEUS. His precision, creativity, and raw energy captivated the audience and judges, solidifying his position as champion of the event. Jan’s raw talent and passion were undeniable, with every move reflecting his dedication and skill. The judges were captivated, and the audience was left in awe of his electrifying performance. His well-deserved victory was a testament to his hard work and shared love for dance.
Although Sci-Pher Crew claimed the top prize, the other groups also made a lasting impression. The D’nominators (TCUMC) earned the 1st Runner-Up title by giving a seamless choreography and powerful stage presence. Coming in as 2nd Runner-Up was FourBEEDden (ABAKADA) that showed what was the real meaning of a masterful blend passion and teamwork. The GEMnastics (GEM) secured the 3rd Runner-Up spot with their elegant moves and vibrant energy.

WINNING ALONE IS GREAT, BUT WINNING TOGETHER? IT’S LIKE HITTING 2 BIRDS WITH 1 STONE!
On the 27th of November, 2024, the TCU Auditorium surged with energy as thunderous roars from dedicated supporters finally echoed its walls when the contestants of Mr. and Ms. CED 2025 from the four (4) different programs dominated the stage with their most brilliant smiles, dashing sports and thematic outfits, and compelling advocacies. With Ms. Malou G. Lappay and Mr. John Lloyd F. Quincena, as co-hosts introducing the judges, the groundwork for the first segment of the pageant is drawn to light, jumpstarting the fourteen (14) contestants to tirelessly present themselves with only one goal in mind — grabbing a spot as awardee for the following special awards:

Mr. Israel C. Santos (GEM) and Ms. Samantha Claire T. Cagas (TCUMC) won Best in Production Number by dancing as if their life were at stake during their group production number.

Mr. Franz Jove Dialimas (GEM) and Ms. Noraine D. Abas (GEM) won Mr. and Ms. Photogenic by showing their utmost beauty, even in the digital and photographic format.
Mr. Vash Nicklaus Bostre (GEM) and Ms. Nicole Dimalaluan (ABAKADA) won the People’s Choice Award by captivating the audiences with their timeless charisma and beauty.

Lastly, Mr. Israel C. Santos and Ms. Jade R. Quevedo (GEM) won Best Sports’ Wear, Thematic Wear, and Best Advocacy who captured the heart of the people with their whisking, winterinspired sports attire and compelling thematic wear and advocacy.
Accordingly, after the fierce battle for the aforementioned awards, the final four (4) from the male and female categories are chosen by the selective and exceptional judges as they carefully witness each of the candidates’ glamorous and justified turns.

Onto the next segment, the Question-and-Answer portion, the level of energy reaches yet another peak and the tension arises when it is announced that the scores of the remaining candidates will reset back to zero, and a new criterion will be followed: (Beauty50%, Brain - 50), pushing the candidates to brace themselves in the hardest segment of the pageant that puts both their visuals and intellect to the test.
Upon thorough and careful deliberation, the judges, namely Mr. John Paul Ludovice, Mr. Grefiljon Rosillo, and Ms. Camille Mapa, finally came to a decision to unveil the participants whose answers resonated soundly with the hearts of the masses.
Alas! With their most sensible truths, Mr. Israel C. Santos and Ms. Jade R. Quevedo, both from the Guild of English Majors (GEM), obtained the crown, showing that through baby steps, working together, and embracing who you are, you are capable of a change not just within yourself.
“ “Embrace our own individualities… Embrace our own individualities… our own unique self. That one our own unique self. That one certain fragment that shapes us certain fragment that shapes us to be our best self. to be our best self.” ”

Abas (GEM) as 2nd runner-up, then Mr. John Lawrence V. Morales and Ms. Nicole C. Dimalaluan (ABAKADA) as 3rd runner-up.

These answers truly mark the beauty and intelligence that these royalties possess and scream their rightful places as king and queen, and are catalysts which ultimately resulted in their resounding victory as champions.
Nevertheless, the tremors of acclamation for each respective program can still be heard. As the event comes to an end, this wishful journey lives on for the future competitors to forge their own path of success like how the crowned winners stood against fate to claim their desired victory.
“ “You should always try. I have You should always try. I have failed a lot of times, but I didn't failed a lot times, but I didn't use my mistakes as my identity. use my mistakes as my identity.” ”

In the painting competition, Ms. Mary Joy M. Colona from the ABAKADA got the knack on classic black and white art style, and was recognized as the champion, impressing the judges with her artistic vision and skill. Following her were Wendyl R. Guardario and Francine M. Panaligan, both from the Mathematics department (TCUMC), who secured the 1st and 2nd places, respectively. Then there is Ms. Alexis Nicole M. Cubico who rounded out the top four, earning 3rd place with her captivating artwork.
