Dear Preschool Families,
We hope you had a great summer and that you are as excited as we are to begin this new school year. For those of you who do not know us, we would like to introduce ourselves. We are Marali Chari and Pauline Vargas. We are looking forward to a wonderful, exciting year with you and your child in preschool.
The information in the following pages are things that we think are important for a smooth transition into your child’s preschool year.
We ask for things to be done in a certain way. We urge your cooperation, because after many, many years of working with preschool age children, we believe this is what works best.
As always, your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Warm
Regards, Marali Chari Pauline Vargas

Student Supplies & Clothes
We have attached our preschool supply list to this letter in case you haven’t received it. Please place your child’s supplies in a large bag with your child’s name on the outside of the bag.
Also, please have your family picture and head shots brought in with the supplies.
We ask that you bring a full set of clothes for your child in a Ziploc bag. Include underwear, socks, shirt, pants, and extra shoes.
Please print your child's name on the bag. These clothes are to remain in school.
If your child will be staying for nap time, please place the nap mat in a large plastic bag with your child’s name. At the end of the week, it will be sent home for cleaning in the provided bag.
Please bring all supplies the day before school starts, when we have our mandatory Parent Orientation meeting on Sept. 5th.
The folder, backpack, water bottle and lunch box will come to school with your child on the first day.
Please dress your child in clothes that he or she can open, close, zip, unzip, pull up and down by themselves. It would also be beneficial to your child if he or she wore Velcro shoes/sneakers to school.
Allowing children to be successful in taking care of themselves fosters selfworth and independence.

Arrival/Dismissal Procedures
Preschool children should arrive at school between 8:00 and 8:45am. They will be guided to their classroom where they will unpack their belongings and place them in the appropriate areas.
In the afternoon, dismissal time will be at 2:45 pm (if not staying for aftercare) where the students will be waiting for their parent/ guardian in their classroom for pick-up from the side door under the pergola.

Snacks & Lunch
Starting on the first day of school, your child will have an AM snack. If your child stays for aftercare (after 3:00pm) your child will also need a PM snack. Please give your child something small and healthy to eat. A snack bar, small container of yogurt, fresh fruit and dry cereal is perfect. A small juice box or water filled container is also recommended.
Please place all items in a small Ziploc with your child’s name on the bag and mark it AM snack. Place the snack in your child’s backpack, not in his or her lunchbox. The water container does not go in the bag.
If your child is bringing lunch from home, we ask that you place the lunch in a child friendly lunchbox. Please make sure the lunchbox is labeled with your child’s name. Please note, we are not permitted to heat their lunch.
