Welcome to Kindergarten

Dear Kindergarten “B” Parents,

I am so excited to welcome all of you into my Kindergarten "B" Family!! I hope all of you were able to enjoy your summer and are looking forward to a great Kindergarten year! Our philosophy is that teachers and parents need to be partners in educating our children. This creates a community of respect, success, and joy necessary for lifetime learning.

As you know, Kindergarten is a full academic day. Kindergarten " B's " academic instruction includes Language Arts, Literacy, Social Studies, Science and Singapore Math. “Specialist Classes” are taught by Specialist Teachers. These classes are Music, Art, World Language (Spanish), Drama, Guidance and Gym.

In the following pages, I have provided detailed information about supplies, lunch, snack, arrival and dismissal, and more. Please be sure to read through it all.

Student Supplies

To make it easier for you, your child's supplies including a very important family picture (4x6 or 4x7) for our "All About Me" Bulletin Board, can be dropped off in the lobby of the lower school building between 8 am - 12 pm on Wednesday, September 6th, during the timing of the new parent orientation.

Every child needs to come to school on the first day bringing a full size backpack containing a folder in it. If you did not drop your child's supplies off a day prior, please send in all the supplies with your child on this first day of school, Thursday, September 7th.

Student Lunch & Snack

Your child will need to come to school each day with a healthy morning snack/drink, a water bottle and if your son or daughter is attending our Aftercare Program, you will need to send a pm snack/drink as well. Please send “Home Lunch” for your child if you are not purchasing hot lunch from our catering company.

Arrival/Dismissal Procedures

It is preferred that your child arrives to school between 8:00 am - 8:20 am each day so that there is enough time for your child to unpack independently and be ready to start his/her academic day which begins promptly at 8:30 am in our assembly with Mr. Seeley.

Our dismissal time is at 2:30. For K students dismissal, we ask that parents please park in a legal parking spot and come to the side door near the Cafeteria (under pergola) of the lower school building to pick up their child. Students who are enrolled in aftercare or an after-school program will stay in the classroom and have a light snack from home at 3:00.

It is important that I have your child's information obtainable within the classroom and so with that being said, please email back to me as soon as possible the Student/Parent Information Sheet that is attached to the email.
