DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION At Cedar Crest Academy, our foremost priority is to cultivate a respectful and equitable environment for every member of our community, including students, families, and staff. We recognize that schools play a pivotal role in shaping the growth and development of young minds, which is why we are dedicated to fostering cultural competence and empathy from an early age. By promoting a communityoriented mindset, we aim to create a space where everyone feels safe and valued. To realize this vision, it is essential that all staff and community members embody the principles we teach our students. We encourage everyone to engage with the Ten Pillars of Character Education, which we emphasize throughout the academic year. Our commitment to ongoing growth ensures that diversity, equity, and inclusion remain integral to our program and enrich the experience of everyone in our school community.
MISSION Cedar Crest Academy is committed to fostering academic excellence while nurturing the development of ethical, creative, and compassionate individuals. Our goal is to ignite a passion for learning within our students, help them discover their strengths, and support them in reaching their full potential. With a focus on foundational skills, communication, and leadership, our students are equipped to thrive in diverse and ever-changing global communities. One of the cornerstones of Cedar Crest Academy’s educational philosophy is the belief that learning is a lifelong process. We aim to embody the importance of education and growth for all ages and phases of life, emphasizing the value of curiosity and transformation. Our mission is to inspire a love of learning that lasts a lifetime.
VISION A child’s early years are a critical period for their human development. As educators and leaders in the field, we have a duty to establish a strong foundation for our students. This foundation will enable them to excel in cognitive, physical, social, emotional, and creative domains. At Cedar Crest Academy, we want our students to:
01
Cultivate a love for learning and exploring through new experiences
02
Establish a growth mindset that accepts mistakes and encourages persistence
03
Practice mindfulness and empathy for ourselves, our peers, and our communities

YOUR CHILD’S PATH THROUGH CEDAR CREST ACADEMY
KINDERGARTEN
PRE-PRIMARY
“A child’s education should feel like a journey, not a series of transitions. There’s real value in not having to start over. We build on who they are, how they learn, and what they’re ready for next, so they can keep growing from a foundation that already knows them.” — Executive Director, Heather Carpenter
YOUNG PRESCHOOL, PRESCHOOL & PRE-KINDERGARTEN For many students, Pre-Primary is their first school experience. A balance of predictable routines, creativity, and hands-on learning helps children feel secure as they build confidence, independence, and essential academic, social, and emotional skills at their own pace.
KINDERGARTEN The move into Elementary is an exciting milestone, and it’s made easier because your child is already part of the Cedar Crest family. Kindergarten builds naturally on the learning and routines they already know, introducing new academic challenges that strengthen core concepts and encourage students to apply their thinking, creating a seamless progression toward First Grade and beyond.
ELEMENTARY
ELEMENTARY As students move through Elementary, the love of learning they discovered early on grows into greater purpose. With teachers who know them as learners, students are challenged to think critically, reason deeply, and take their ideas further through collaborative projects, leadership, communication, and service, preparing them for what comes next and well beyond.
INDIVIDUALIZED LEARNING RESPECTING & SUPPORTING INDIVIDUAL DIFFERENCES
While Cedar Crest has grown to four campuses, our commitment to knowing each child and building strong partnerships with families remains unchanged. We recognize that every student learns at their own pace and in their own way, so teachers individualize learning while challenging students to explore complex ideas and deepen their understanding. Parents are valued partners throughout that journey, with involvement, collaboration, and open communication connecting home and school. We bring this approach to life through:

CAMPUS FAQs What grades comprise Pre-Primary & Elementary? The Pre-Primary program consists of Young Preschool through PreKindergarten, while the Elementary program covers Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. Are Kindergarten through Fifth Grade classes available at all schools? All Cedar Crest Academy locations offer Kindergarten for a smooth transition from Pre-Primary to Elementary. Our Bellewood campus continues through Fifth Grade, so Kindergartners at Park Highland, Northup, and Redmond move to Bellewood Elementary for First Grade. Staying with Cedar Crest for the full journey gives your child the same values, community, and trusted approach to learning from Pre-Primary through Elementary. Do all campuses provide the same accelerated curriculum? Yes! All campuses follow the same curriculum, so every student has equal access to learning materials and growth opportunities. Teachers from the same grade band also meet monthly across campuses to share strategies, lesson plans, and creative activities. That consistency lets your child build on a familiar foundation from Pre-Primary through Fifth Grade. Which campus should I choose? When selecting a campus, families often consider the daily commute and proximity to home. Some prefer our smaller campuses for a more intimate atmosphere, while others opt for larger ones. We encourage families to prioritize their child’s needs in this decision. Regardless of the choice, all campuses provide equal access to resources and opportunities for learning and development.
PRE-PRIMARY PROGRAM AN ADVANCED EDUCATIONAL, SOCIAL, & EMOTIONAL FOUNDATION
Starting your child’s journey in Cedar Crest Academy’s Pre-Primary program opens the door to opportunities that grow with them throughout their education. Early childhood education lays the groundwork for the years ahead, and our program blends academics with hands-on learning to encourage creativity, self-expression, and problem-solving. Enrolling early gives children time to become part of our school community and develop a sense of belonging as they progress from Young Preschool through Fifth Grade. It can also make the admissions process easier for families, while giving children a strong foundation for academic and social growth. Along the way, children make lasting memories within a vibrant community of learners. Our educators guide and support them at every stage, helping each child make the most of the opportunities ahead. We invite you to begin that journey with us.

PRE-PRIMARY FAQs Is Extended Care offered to Pre-Primary students at all campuses? Yes! We provide additional Before and After School Care programs to all Pre-Primary students. The only campus and grade levels not offered Before Care are Kindergarten through Fifth Grade students at the Bellewood campus, due to their early arrival time. How do Pre-Primary families stay updated on their child’s habits? Cedar Crest Academy’s Pre-Primary staff rely on an online childcare management software for their daily operations. Using this application, Pre-Primary families can receive regular updates on their child's eating, sleeping, and potty habits. Additionally, teachers can easily send messages and share pictures to keep families fully informed about their child's progress and overall experience at school. Are Pre-Primary students required to wear uniforms? No. Uniforms are only required for our students who attend Kindergarten - Fifth Grade at the Bellewood campus. All Pre-Primary students are asked to wear weatherappropriate and comfortable clothes so they can participate in school activities. Does my child need to be potty trained? Yes. All Pre-Primary students are required to be fully potty trained before they begin school. It is a strict policy of our program and pull-ups or nap-time diapers are not permitted. We do, however, understand that accidents are common for students at this age, so we request parents to send extra pairs of clothes. How does the Pre-Primary program prepare students for Elementary learning? In Pre-Primary, children begin to see themselves as capable learners. They build early literacy and math skills while finding their voice, making friends, and growing more independent. Kindergarten is the next step in a community that already feels like theirs. As they move through Elementary, those early foundations support deeper study, critical thinking, and problem-solving through Fifth Grade.
ELEMENTARY PROGRAM YOUR CHILD'S JOURNEY TO ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE STARTS HERE Our Elementary program is where students begin to see just how much they’re capable of. They move beyond learning the fundamentals to testing ideas, making connections across subjects, and taking greater ownership of their work. A comprehensive core curriculum, inschool specialists, and clubs give them room to follow their interests and discover new ones. Teachers bring students together for shared learning, then work with them in smaller groups to offer the challenge and support each child needs. These years shape more than academic ability. Students learn to speak up, listen closely, work through setbacks, and consider their place in a larger community. By the time they leave Cedar Crest, we want them to bring both strong skills and a sense of themselves to middle school. Every Cedar Crest campus offers Kindergarten, so children can move into Elementary with familiar teachers, classmates, and routines around them. At Bellewood, that continuity can carry them through Fifth Grade.

How will the Elementary program accommodate their needs? Cedar Crest Academy's elementary curriculum is specially designed to be one grade level above the standard curriculum for their grade. Our small class sizes also enable us to provide personalized attention to every student by tailoring the instruction to their specific needs. We also use standardized assessments and a math placement test to ensure that each student gets an appropriate challenge. What are Clubs? How do they enhance the core curriculum? Every year, Elementary staff organize clubs that cater to different disciplines and interests such as yoga, dance, reading, bird-watching, theatre, and more. On the last Wednesday of each month, Pre-Primary students are released early to allow teachers to engage in professional development and planning. On these days, all Pre-Primary students must be picked up by 12:00 PM, as no After Care services will be available. When should I inform the school of program changes or adjustments to Before/After Care? All program changes, including adjustments to Extended Care or withdrawal from a program, require written notice two months prior to the desired effective date, unless a different notice period is expressly stated in the applicable program terms. Program changes are not permitted during November, December, January, or June, unless approved by the School in writing. For example, a requested May program change must be submitted no later than March 10. The following schedule applies unless the School provides a different written schedule:
Are there any additional annual fees? Along with the security deposit, which covers June 2028 tuition, families should plan for two additional fees: Registration Fee: $320 for all students Education Fee: $1,200 for Young Preschool through Pre-Kindergarten $2,000 for Kindergarten through Fifth Grade An annual Parent Association membership fee is also required for each child. It supports community initiatives such as enrichment workshops. The Parent Association will share the amount before the school year begins.
ANNUAL
summer camps!
*Summer camps are open to enrolled Cedar Crest students only. Camp dates and themes vary by campus.
Each of our four two-week camps has its own theme, giving children a new world to explore through stories, art, games, and hands-on activities. There’s time to play, make friends, and enjoy the familiar faces and spaces of Cedar Crest. Young Preschool-Preschool A gentle introduction to school, with familiar routines, new friendships, and plenty of time to play. Children grow comfortable in the classroom and build the confidence to start the school year feeling at home.
Pre-Kindergarten-Kindergarten A summer of discovery with activities that keep early math and literacy skills growing. Children get to practice, play, and build confidence, making the transition into the new school year feel a little more familiar.
