Join retired attorney Elaine Shanebrook and other content experts for our Every Step with Cedar Community seminar series on estate planning. The free, six session educational series, Leaving Your Legacy, will equip you with tools and options for values-based estate planning. Attendees will receive educational materials at each seminar that will help you get organized, get thinking, and get started with your planning.*

Thursday, Sept. 17 Your Healthcare Power of Attorney and Funeral Preplanning

This session will explore the preplanning that one can do to avoid the potential of a court-ordered guardianship, with the use of a power of attorney for healthcare. Attendees will also learn about living wills, and how and when “Do Not Resuscitate” orders can be in e ect. The funeral preplanning process will also be presented by a local funeral professional.

Thursday, Nov. 19 Financial Conversations and Values-based Planning

Did your parents discuss money or  nancial matters when you were young? Do you talk to your children about your estate or what is important to you when planning your legacy? This session will touch on how to start a conversation with your family about your values and what is important to you when leaving your legacy.

Thursday, Oct. 15 Your Financial Power of Attorney and Important Considerations

Who you choose to become your  nancial power of attorney can become a source of con ict in many families. What should you take into consideration when choosing who should take care of your  nances? What options are there outside of your family? Future seminar topics include: · Should you use a will or a trust · Tax consequences in your estate · Charitable giving and ethical wills
