2C BRANGUS
Floresville, Texas
2C Brangus is a ranch owned by myself and my wife of 40 years, Deborah. We both have been around cattle all our lives and began a small commercial herd of our own around 1995. Around 2013 we purchased our first registered Brangus cattle. Like many small breeders we started slowly but soon realized to get where we wanted to go, we needed to invest in some quality donor females. We have put together some of the best females we could find and between embryo transfer and AI have seen our herd grow quickly in number and quality.
We now sell 30—40 good range bulls private treaty and keep a handful of females along with putting a few in registered sales. Any females not making the upper cut are sold as
commercial bred heifers in the fall. This program is working well for us. Our love of cattle and the rural way of life has given great enjoyment and the challenge of breeding better cattle has been very rewarding. Our herd has been established by cherry picking genetics from some of the top breeders in the country. We put a strong emphasis on EPD performance with phenotype and docility playing a major part in our decision making. Our females are selectively mated to some of the top AI sires available and cleaned up with some great herd bulls.
Along with breeding great cattle we enjoy the many friendships the Brangus breed and cattle business has brought us. They are too countless to mention but I am extremely thankful for all of them. The love of ranching and the rural life has led me to take responsibilities in numerous organizations the past few years. President of our local ICA chapter, State president of Independent Cattleman’s Assn., Treasurer of United States Cattleman’s Assn. and Texas Brangus Breeders Association President to name a few. We are excited for the future of our ranch as well as the Brangus breed.
Tennessee Colony, TX
Michael Bennett’s journey is one of dedication, adaptability, and an unwavering commitment to excellence. A graduate of Texas A&M University in 1983, he began his career with a strong foundation in agriculture, starting a small commercial cow operation.
His passion for cattle led him to purchase his first registered Brangus in 1996, marking the beginning of a deeper investment in the breed.
Recognizing the value of superior genetics, Michael became a cooperator with Camp Cooley Ranch, utilizing their elite breeding programs to enhance his herd. However, as his career as a financial advisor flourished,
he made the strategic decision to liquidate his Brangus operation in 2007 to fully dedicate himself to his growing business.
Never one to stray too far from his ranching roots, Michael expanded his commercial herd to approximately 300 head in 2012, maintaining his connection to the industry.
After nearly a decade of focusing on his commercial herd, his passion for Brangus cattle reignited in 2021. Determined to build a worldclass herd, he made a bold return to the registered Brangus business, investing in elite donor dams to establish a premier breeding program. With a lifetime of experience in both cattle and finance, Michael Bennett exemplifies the balance of business acumen and agricultural expertise, continuing to make a lasting impact in both fields.
Our cooperators are vital to the success of CDP Brangus. We have partners who have been with us for years and we are proud that we not only build cattle that last, but relationships that last too.
Bill Austin Brangus evolved from our commercial ranching operation that initially started in 1970 after graduation from Texas A&M. The commercial operation was a combination of Angora goats, Rambouillet sheep, and a cow-calf operation on 8,000 acres of leased land in Menard County Texas.
In 2010 we decided to concentrate on raising registered Brangus as a result of what we had observed in our commercial cow experience. We purchased cattle at the final Camp Cooley dispersal and met cattlemen that would be influential in building our herd. Trey Kirkpatrick and Ken Hughes helped with the selection process to start the herd. We also purchased 160 embryos to put in recips to
augment the females that we had purchased. That was the basis of our herd. Ken continued to advise and select matings until his passing in 2019. Ken also performed our AI and embryo transfers. Since that time, Craig Green has advised us on matings as well as new bulls and females to introduce into our herd. We have benefited from the experience of some of the most knowledgeable cowmen in the industry.
We utilize the latest technology with GE-EPDs taken on all of our cattle and use those in concert with visual appraisals to select our replacements. Donnie Roberson scans all of our calves so that we have actual measurements of ribeye area, intramuscular fat, and fat thickness. We never imagined when we started in the registered business the number of tools available to breeders to aid in making breeding and selection decisions.
Our herd is approximately 100-125 registered cows. We normally transfer about 60 embryos annually and also utilize AI. We strive to make incremental improvements in our cow herd in the pursuit of cattle that will perform anywhere and produce a product that is sought after by cattle producers and ultimately by the beef consumer.
We have been fortunate to market our cattle for approximately ten years as a cooperator with the group that has evolved to be come CDP Brangus. My wife, Elida and I welcome visitors to come see what we have established.
JRT BRANGUS
Cumming, Ga
JRT Brangus is located in the mountainous terrain of Northwest GA. My family has been involved with commercial cattle as long as I can remember. Twenty something odd years ago we purchased our first Brangus bull and the rest was history. My love and passion for the breed started when I bought my first registered pair. It didn’t take long to realize that I wanted to raise the best Brangus that I possibly could! Over the years we have used AI and ET extensively to build our herd. In 2015 we purchased DMR El Dorado 30B15 who became one of the most influential herd sires of his time. He helped elevate our program to another level! With the success that came from El Dorado we decided to purchase DMR/JRT Dynamic 30G36 who was a standout, along with TTT/JRT Payback 541J34. The continued strategic purchases of top quality donors and AI herd sires have helped propel us to a top quality Brangus breeder. Our end goal is to provide top quality and cutting edge genetics to commercial and purebred breeders across the country!
JMP FARM LLC
Mineral Springs, Ar
Est 1950
Pope Farms began with my parents Mickey and Vivian Pope back in 1950. Today my wife Myra, and I, along with my brother Andrew Pope and his son Tyler Pope make up 3 generations of Popes raising cattle.
In 1974 I bought the farm that borders our family farm and have been breeding cattle for 51 years. Over the years we have kept coming back to Brangus cattle.
In 2014, with the guidance of Craig Green, I bought 40 registered Brangus pairs and started my registered cattle business. We have grown our registered herd with the help of Craig Green selecting all the genetics for breeding. We AI all our females with CDP Genetics and use CDP selected bulls which Craig buys at the CDP sale for clean up bulls. We are calving both spring and fall to keep calves coming year around to sale.
I’ve sold both registered and commercial heifers at the CDP sale for many years now and have been very happy with the relationship. We sell my registered bulls by private treaty at the farm. We have a good customer base and are selling all our bulls before they are 2 years old.
My commercial herds are all Brangus that were raised on the farm and bred to our own CDP Brangus genetics, bulls. The steers are backgrounded and then sold at OKC West. The heifers are sold private treaty off the farm when ready to breed.
We are very happy with our registered Brangus business and want to thank Craig with CDP for all his help getting me started and continuing to select the genetics for breeding. We are looking forward to continuing upgrading the genetics in our herd.
LACKEY RANCH
xxx
The story of Lackey ranch starts in 1886 when Samuel Cambell Lackey, a lawyer, established the ranch with two land purchases — the headquarters and clear creek ranches. Vachel Weldon was a dominant and progressive rancher originally from Indianola, Texas, moved to Dewitt County and converted his Longhorn herd to Shorthorns.
Samuel Lackey’s son would marry Vachel Weldon’s daughter and their son, Vachel Weldon Lackey, took over the ranch. Together with old friends and new alliances, Lackey Ranch became a charter member of the Santa Gertrudis Association in 1950, with herd number 10.
Vachel’s daughter Margaret Saunders Block led the ranch after his death, until her oldest daughter, Page Saunders permanently to the ranch in 1978. At that time, the ranch house still had an open-air kitchen and handmade
concrete bathtub. Page held a master’s degree from the University of Texas and was a former San Antonio Debutante and Fiesta Queen — quite a change from Alamo Heights. She soon became successful in showing cattle and with the Ranch to Rail program. She always looked for the diamond in rough bull and to not “break the bank.”
Page passed the General Manager duties onto her daughter and her husband, Dr. Larry Franke in 2015 and even though he had started raising Brangus, Dr. Franke assured Page that the Gerts would stay.
From a starting herd of 12 registered cows in 2011, to today, Lackey Ranch Brangus has grown to over 1,100 head of Brangus cattle. Today’s cattle are thriving under the care of ranch manager Ricky Curry.
Baxley, GA
Woody Folsom is a second-generation farmer in Baxley, Ga. who grew up with a strong passion for agriculture and cattle. When beginning Circle F Farms, his desire was to honor his late father, James Folsom. Now, that desire has grown and prospered into what we now recognize as Circle F Farms.
Over 3,000 acres of land encompass the herd and crops that he has established over the last 13 years. Running 3 different Registered Herds, a Commercial program, as well as a Market division, he has worked to diversify the offering and his clients.
The Registered Brangus Division has brought so much opportunity to Circle F, the customers, as well as the cattle. Woody has had the chance to work with some of the most elite programs in the Country to build the bloodlines to where they are today.
He is extremely proud to have this offering in the CDP Brangus sale and looks forward to working with the customers for years to come.
Welcome, everyone, and thank you for joining us for our CDP Spring 2025 Production Sale! Once again, we are excited to partner with the Milam family at the iconic Draggin’ M Ranch in El Dorado, Arkansas.

We are also honored to welcome a new member to our team at this sale, Dr. Darrell Wilkes. Darrell brings a wealth of knowledge, wisdom, and experience in the cattle industry. Be sure to connect with him and take advantage of his expertise to assist with decisions in advancing your herd and cattle operations.

Any animals that are confirmed as carriers of a genetic condition such as DD, developmental duplication, will be listed above their pedigrees as DDC. Any animals we are still waiting test results on will be listed as DDPC. All other animals have been either confirmed free of known genetic conditions by test results or from pedigree analysis.
We are extremely dedicated to providing our customers the genetics needed to help positively impact their bottom line. We will not compromise the integrity of our data. Our utmost goal is to provide the information that will successfully identify the genetics most needed in your particular operation. The information provided by the IBBA was provided at weaning and yearling by the breeder for computation. We believe in EPD’s, but fully realize that they are only as good as the information provided to the association. Inaccurate weights and faulty contemporary groups lead to poor information and bad selection decisions.
Please realize that these cattle were in different contemporary groupings at weaning; therefore, it is not fair to compare birth weaning and yearling weights from one herd to another. A wide range of environments are represented in this offering and thus have affected those weights, plus different management comes into play, i.e. creep fed vs. not creep fed. Within herd weights and ratios were good when that was the only information we had. However, EPD’s are a much better indicator of genetic potential and are the only way across herd comparisons can be made. Also, we have listed the current non-parent Brangus breed average EPD’s in the catalog for your reference and comparison on how individual lots compare to the average of the breed in any trait.
CDP Brangus will work with customers on delivery of cattle in an effort to have the cattle delivered to customers as soon as possible after the sale. However, if you are not ready for the cattle at this time we will maintain the cattle at the ranch for a period of time until you are ready for them. A nominal fee of $3.50 per day will be charged plus any veterinary charges incurred will be billed. Cattle will be maintained on a growing ration in grass traps. Cattle become the buyer’s responsibility immediately after the sale. CDP Brangus is not responsible for insurance costs or death.
At the conclusion of the sale or as soon as possible following the sale if purchases are made via video or sight unseen agreement; please notify the sale staff as to specific instructions about cattle delivery. If you request our assistance the CDP Brangus staff will make every effort to help coordinate the most reliable and economical trucking available. Trucking expense will be the responsibility of the purchaser. If you prefer to make your own arrangements trucking representatives will be available sale day to discuss your needs or we can place you in contact with reliable truckers.
Please note that animals you purchase become your responsibility at time of purchase. CDP Brangus nor any of the breeders involved in this sale take responsibility for animals that may be injured in transport. Insurance is available for those who would desire that coverage.

Here at CDP Brangus we are always ready to adapt and adjust to the times in terms of growing and feeding our bulls, ultimately with our customer’s best interests in mind, which in turn, benefits us as seedstock producers. Longevity, soundness, and fertility are all factors that we feel must be taken into account when developing our bulls so that you, as our consumer, get an end product that can be turned out into your cowherd and have the ability to service your cows and come out of the breeding season having maintained his body condition score. This will, in turn, allow him to recover and be ready to be turned out again in the next season with very little additional supplementation, year after year. We have tried an assortment of feeding programs throughout our journey and have landed on, what we and many others feel, is the answer to all of our bull development needs.
Keith Cagle at Rose Bud Feeders brings 25+ years of bull development experience to the table and has tweaked and adjusted his ration with assistance from the Caldwell family through the years until they have totally perfected the bull feeding game. The fallout rate of the CDP bulls since we started feeding with Keith has been the least in our history of growing and selling bulls and we’re confident that you will continue to experience the same trend when you get your new CDP bull’s home.
The ration that these bulls are developed on is a grass silagebased feed with commodities added to balance the ration for protein, fat, and TDN with the goal set to have the bulls gaining an average in the 3-3.5 pounds per day range across the feeding stage until they become yearlings. A mineral pack is also added to every mix to ensure that their vitamin and mineral intake is consistent and meets their development needs.
The post-weaned bull calves, already having received their vaccinations before arriving at the Rose Bud Bull Test Center, will immediately begin their transition onto the silage diet for a 30-day warm
up period before being weighed onto gain test. After they are fully transitioned onto the silage ration, they are weighed and evaluated as they begin their 90 day gain test where they will remain in their contemporary groups until its completion.
At the conclusion of the 90 day test, the bulls are weighed, scrotal circumference measured along with Donnie Robertson taking carcass ultrasound measurements. Once the collected raw data is all turned in to the Brangus Association, adjusted weights and measurements are used to further evaluate each and every bull for quality, structural soundness, and disposition, making sure that every standard and benchmark is met or exceeded. The bulls are sorted and grouped according to type and kind with quality and uniformity in mind and will be monitored from then on for any issues that may arise and will remain in these groups until sale day.
One of the things that we take pride in at CDP Brangus is the ability for our bulls to be handled by any means necessary. Meaning that we want them to experience every possible handling method that they could possibly see before arrival at their new home. These bulls are handled on foot, both alone and as a group, horseback, with dogs, as well as four wheelers and side by sides and they have all passed the test, which will allow you to take comfort knowing that these bulls will handle for you when the time comes to move them.
The work has all been done for you and we’re confident in our process and we think you will enjoy reaping the benefits of that process.

Take a close look here at this outstanding Cash Flow daughter that sells in the absolute prime of her life! Sired by the highly proven, but now deceased Cash Flow bull, she exhibits all of the phenotypic traits that he has come to be known for, heavy boned, big bodied, and stout made. But just as impressive, from
a genomic standpoint she impresses the masses with her top 1% ranking for both Weaning and Yearling, as well as top 10% for Ribeye Area, and top 15% for Total Maternal traits. The donor dam that she stems from, MS DMR THREE D 30E has been one of the best producing daughters of the great “Three D” bull, and her donor dam, Suhn’s Miss Patton 30X6, needs no introduction with the tremendous impact that she has made all across the Brangus Breed that we love. The combination of stoutness, eye appeal, and overall goodness that TTT MS CASH FLOW 30H6 brings to the table to go along with her impeccable set of Genomically Enhanced EPD’s leave her wide open to many of the up and coming herdsire prospects that the breed has to offer. Proven genetics, phenotypic superiority, and added longevity will make this powerful donor female one to raise some eyebrows as well as some hands on sale day. Averaging 14.8 embryos per flush on the last 5 flushes, she should have a calf at side by sale day and will be ready to enter your donor herd right away this spring.

The 166 cow family that was made famous by Dr. Randy Schmidt at Schmidt Farms has been one of the highest revenue generating families in the CDP programs in recent years. They consistently produce sons and daughters that have been extremely well accepted in the market place all due to their exceptional quality, stoutness, and fertility characteristics. MS DMR MONUMENT 166G11 was a standout in her contemporary group as a yearling and was the $20,000 selection by TTT Brangus as a yearling and she hasn’t turned back since, producing progeny that have consistently found their way to the front of their respective contemporary groups as well. She posts breed leading growth and carcass numbers and the New Standard bull calf that she is dragging alongside has herdsire potential written all over him. C ONSISTENT • DA TA - DRIVEN PERFORMANCE
The CDP Brangus HBO breeding program focuses on providing high-quality genetics to enhance herd performance. This program features a selection of top-tier bulls known for their strong traits, including growth, fertility, and overall health. It offers cattle producers a chance to improve their breeding initiatives with superior genetic lines, ultimately boosting livestock productivity and profitability.
The HBO period lasts about 90 to 120 days. For an additional fee of $750, purchasers are guaranteed a bred heifer, confirmed pregnant, or they will receive a full credit for the original price of the heifer if breeding is unsuccessful. Essentially, you’re assured either a bred heifer or a credit for an extra $750 on top of the cost of the open heifer you bought.
This program is especially beneficial for breeders who may not have the capability to AI breed their heifers at home. The HBO program consistently results in a high rate of heifers bred safely to recognized CDP Brangus AI sires.
The HBO option is available for any virgin registered heifer between 13 to 17 months old sold at a CDP Brangus sale, lots 45103 are eligible.
Heifers will be managed at Draggin’ M Ranch and AI bred to a CDP Brangus herd sire of the buyer’s choosing. Craig or Grady are available for breeding recommendations, but the final choice will be left to the buyer.
CDP Brangus covers the costs for pasture, feed, minerals, routine vaccinations, synchronization medications, and parasite control. Semen costs will also be covered if a CDP Brangus bull is used. A quality clean-up bull will be provided after AI at no additional charge.
The heifers will be managed similarly to other virgin heifers at Draggin’ M Ranch. The HBO program costs an extra $750 on top of the heifer’s price, and this fee, along with the full purchase price, must be settled on the day of the sale.
Once heifers are palpated and confirmed safe in calf, they will be deemed breeders with no further guarantees from CDP Brangus or its partners. Registration papers will be transferred to the new owner upon confirmation of pregnancy. If a heifer does not palpate pregnant, the buyer will receive a credit for the purchase price only, applicable to future CDP Brangus sales, excluding the $750 HBO fee or the heifer’s salvage value.
Buyers are responsible for picking up the heifers within two weeks of being notified of palpation results. Arranging transportation from Draggin’ M Ranch to the buyer’s ranch is the buyer’s responsibility.
CDP Brangus partners and cooperators are not liable for any deaths or veterinary expenses incurred by heifers in this program. We strongly recommend that buyers consider purchasing mortality insurance for their heifers.
Customers interested in the HBO program are encouraged to discuss the details with a CDP Brangus representative before the sale. After the sale, we invite all customers wishing to enroll their heifers in the HBO program to meet with Craig or Grady to finalize details, ensure we have updated contact information, and address any questions.
SEWELL CATTLE
In terms of phenotype, this Rawhide daughter is one of the most complete yearling open heifers in this offering. Her dam was a selection from the T3 herd in the Pine Belt Alliance sale and her sire comes from the Mound Creek program, and the combination of those together really worked.
The 23 cow family is one that is known for their fertility and longevity tracing back to the Salacoa herd and beyond and this stout made, deep sided New Standard, open yearling replacement heifer is another impressive example of their quality.
These Top Gun daughters continue to impress us the more that we get a chance to watch them progress. They are consistently moderate in their frame score, stout in their makeup and have the squareness and correctness that we strive for in our replacement heifers and though this one has ears that were kissed by the frost, she’s one of the good ones. 47

Animal Safety Warnings and Precautions:
Use of levamisole in cattle treated in the last few days with cholinesterase inhibitors such as organophosphates or with morantel may enhance the toxic effects of levamisole. Use together with caution.
Destruction of Hypoderma larvae (cattle grubs) at the period when these grubs are in vital areas may cause undesirable host-parasite reactions including the possibility of fatalities. Killing H. lineatum when it is in the tissue surrounding the gullet may cause bloat; killing H. bovis when it is in the vertebral canal may cause staggering or paralysis. These reactions are not specific to treatment with VALCOR™ and can occur with any successful treatment of grubs. Cattle should be treated either before or after these stages of grub development. Consult your veterinarian concerning the proper time for treatment. Follow recommended dosage carefully. Reproductive safety has not been evaluated in bulls intended for breeding.
ADVERSE REACTIONS:
This product is likely to cause swelling at the injection site. Tissue damage at the injection site may also occur, including possible granulomas and necrosis. These reactions have resolved without treatment. Local tissue reaction may result in trim loss of edible tissue at slaughter. A single death attributed to clostridial infection associated with the injection of VALCOR™ was reported in a nonpivotal effectiveness study. Observe cattle for injection site reactions. If injection site reactions are suspected, consult your veterinarian. This product is not for intravenous or intramuscular use. Hypersalivation may be observed; however, this reaction will disappear within a few hours. If this condition persists, a veterinarian should be consulted.

TARGET ANIMAL SAFETY:
Margin of Safety: Subcutaneous administration of VALCOR™ was well tolerated in calves as young as 3 months of age at 1, 2, or 3 times the recommended dose. Dose-dependent post-dose hypersalivation was seen in all treated groups compared to the controls. All cases of hypersalivation were mild, transient, and resolved without further medical intervention. Dose-related injection site reactions were observed, and those in the 1X group resolved between 21 and 28 days post injection. Injection site reactions were primarily swelling which resolved between 21 and 28 days post injection. Findings from the injection sites included swelling, edema, inflammation, muscle necrosis and fibrosis.
Female Reproductive Safety: The reproductive safety of VALCOR™ was established in two studies with female cattle. First, a single dose of VALCOR™ was administered subcutaneously at 3 times the recommended dose at times coinciding with folliculogenesis, implantation, or organogenesis, and had no effects on conception, calving, abortion, and stillbirth rates, and post-natal viability up to 30±2 days post-calving. There were no congenital abnormalities. The only test article-related change was an increase in incidence and duration of swelling at injection sites compared with control, but all swellings eventually resolved. In a second study, a single dose of VALCOR™ administered subcutaneously at 3 times the recommended dose at either early or late gestation had no effects on calving, abortion, and stillbirth rates, and post-natal viability up to 30±2 days post-calving. One control calf and two treated calves were born with congenital abnormalities and did not survive. These were not determined to be test article-related. The only test article-related change was an increase in incidence and duration of swelling at injection sites, but all swellings eventually resolved. Not for use in bulls intended for breeding over 1 year of age, as reproductive safety has not been evaluated.
