WELCOME TO

CDP BRANGUS

Welcome to the CDP Brangus 2024 Fall Production Sale at our sale facility located at Draggin M Ranch, El Dorado, Arkansas. We could not be more excited to bring you what we think, is the best offering in the Brangus breed. The registered female offering is wholly comprised of cattle from the CDP Brangus Partners. The partners are confident you will find these females meet the Consistent, Data-driven, Performance criteria we believe in. The BEEF bulls we’re selling are primarily offered by CDP Brangus Partners along with some of our valued genetic partners and friends and the commercial females selling are from a combination of CDP partners and trusted customers. We know you will be impressed by the quality represented.

As the weather turns a little crisper, calves are putting on the pounds, prices remain strong, and the cattleman is planning for next year’s crop. Here at CDP Brangus, we are confident a customer can purchase cattle at our sales, take them home and move their program forward. As a collective, the CDP Partners have been united in our breeding strategy to produce cattle that improve the Brangus breed and bend the curve at weaning. Our genetics have proven time and again how consistent they are when compared to other cattle across the industry. We make data-driven decisions when selecting breeding pieces and we know our cattle will perform above and beyond the others and will improve performance within your herds.

The Registered Female offering, on Wednesday evening, will be comprised of an incredible sampling from each of our CDP Partners. You will quickly find they have dug deep and brought females that were in the “keep pen” but understood the need to show what we at CDP can do to change the Brangus Breed for the better. We will be offering genetics from highly proven donors to the newest and freshest of our open heifer crop. These are cattle from the heart of the CDP program. The commercial heifers selling on Thursday are representative of some of the most progressive breeders in the commercial industry and the quality is impressive.

The Bull offering on Thursday is packed full of great herd sires and “Beef” bulls that will move the industry forward. All of our bulls have been through a minimum of four sort-and-culls to result in a quality set of bulls that can go anywhere in the world, thrive and perform in any environment. We believe that this is as strong of an offering as you will find this sale season.

The CDP Partners are excited to welcome you to where Mr. John called home, Draggin M Ranch. We hope we can grab a chair and sit a spell with you and talk cattle. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to any of the partners or staff with questions. We look forward to welcoming you to our CDP Brangus 2024 Fall Sale.

2024 IBBA BREEDER OF THE YEAR GRADY GREEN

2024 IBBA COMMERCIAL BREEDER OF THE YEAR FRANK JOHNSTON

In March 2024, the International Brangus Breeders Association gathered for their annual meeting during the Houston Livestock Show. CDP Brangus was present to celebrate two of our own receiving two of the most prestigious awards given by the breed. The following are excerpts from the presentations that day.

GRADY GREEN

Born into a Brangus family, raised around some of the great Brangus operations of the 80s, 90s and 2000s, our breeder of the year has emerged as a leading Brangus breeder and one of the most consequential players in the registered Brangus genetics industry.

Consider the following facts from IBBA —

• From November 15, 2022 to November 15, 2023 he has mated some of the outstanding sires and dams of the breed as noted from the December 2023 Brangus Journal.

• He is responsible for 7 of the Top 25 performing sires.

• Draggin’ M Ranch is number 4 in THR registrations.

• He is responsible for 2 of the Top 25 sires with most maternal influence.

• He is responsible for 7 of the Top 25 donor dams with the most registrations.

• Draggin’ M Ranch is at the Top of the registry in ET calves.

But this program didn’t just happen. In May of 2009, John Milam hired a new TCU graduated named, Grady Green. John had spent the last few years getting to know Grady as he had day-worked for Draggin’ M Ranch and he saw something special in Grady. John put his operation in the 23-year-old cowboy’s hands that day and over the last 14.5 years, Grady has poured his heart and soul into building a program that has gained him international recognition for mating and producing cutting edge cattle with what Dr. Wilkes famously called “UMPH.”

It wasn’t long after Grady joined Draggin’ M Ranch full time, that progeny from cattle he mated started topping sales. Semen sales took off along with the sale of embryos, herd sire prospects, proven donors and donor prospects. Over the past nearly fifteen years, Grady has become a leader in the Brangus industry, with Draggin’ M consistently excelling in the sales arena and providing Brangus seedstock that power major cattle operations across the country. Grady has embodied character, honesty, integrity in every aspect of

his life. He is respected as a man of his word and for doing things the “right way” in all aspects of life.

In addition to his role at Draggin’ M Ranch, as of the Fall of 2023, Grady has stepped into the role of Sales Manager for the CDP Brangus, where he helped guide the group’s first sale at Draggin’ M Ranch.

Perhaps the strongest argument for recognizing Grady as Brangus Breeder of the Year is his tireless advocacy of the breed. He sets a high standard with the Brangus cattle he produces, and readily supports fellow ranchers, offering thoughtful advice and serving as a resource to anyone who seeks it. Under Grady’s management, Draggin’ M Ranch is among the highest contributors to the Brangus Foundation, which he believes is vital for the industry’s future.

With the recent passing of John Milam, Grady is well-positioned to continue the legacy of Draggin’ M Ranch into a new chapter. With the support of the Milam family, he has been named President of Draggin’ M Ranch and will carry forward the tradition of producing the exceptional cattle he is known for.

Grady’s willingness to push boundaries, to relentlessly pursue performance, to breed for Brangus supremacy in the sales arena and in the pasture, share knowledge and show up for his partners and fellow cattlemen all strongly speak to why Grady is so well regarded across the Brangus world.

Grady Green is the embodiment of a true Brangus breeder and well deserving of the distinction of being named the 2024 Brangus Breeder of the Year.

FRANK JOHNSTON

Parts of the current Leto Farms has been in the Johnston family since 1865 and has been in cattle production since the beginning. Being no stranger to the cattle business and cattle markets, Frank Johnston decided to improve the quality of cattle running at Leto Farms about 15 years ago and chose Brangus. Frank jumped in with both feet and began buying top of the line herd bulls with a focus on both end product quality and maternal ability. At that time, Leto Farms also began utilizing artificial insemination on the replacement heifers to better accelerate genetic progress.

Today, Leto Farms maintains around 600 commercial females and retains 75-100 replacement females every year. All heifers are bred AI, and starting this year a third of the cow herd was also bred AI. The females at Leto Farms are held to a strict 75 day calving window every year with roughly 80% calving within the first 30 days of the calving season. This strict management has accelerated the selection for maternal excellence and a cow herd set up for profitability in the cattle markets today and into the future.

Leto Farms was one of the 1st breeders to utilize the marketing power of the Brangus Vigor tags and program. Identifying his loads of cattle as Brangus sired progeny has helped to bring light to the quality of Brangus feeder cattle at every stop. Frank began retaining ownership of feeder calves 5 years ago and that data yielded proof that investing in high quality genetics was the right decision. His last few sets to harvest have averaged 92% Choice or better with an average 2.9 Yield Grade and 64.5% dressing percentage, all while converting feed to gain in the feed yard below 6:1. The quality of Leto Farms cattle is now recognized in feedyards and buyers

from their home in Alabama to Texas, Kansas, and most recently Iowa where the most recent set of feeder calves will harvest soon.

Frank Johnston and Leto Farms has a passion for Brangus genetics and are using the right Brangus genetics to navigate the cattle markets at the highest level.

GENETIC CONDITION POLICY

Any animals that are confirmed as carriers of a genetic condition such as DD, developmental duplication, will be listed above their pedigrees as DDC. Any animals we are still waiting test results on will be listed as DDPC. All other animals have been either confirmed free of known genetic conditions by test results or from pedigree analysis.

TRUSTED PERFORMANCE INFORMATION

We are extremely dedicated to providing our customers the genetics needed to help positively impact their bottom line. We will not compromise the integrity of our data. Our utmost goal is to provide the information that will successfully identify the genetics most needed in your particular operation. The information provided by the IBBA was provided at weaning and yearling by the breeder for computation. We believe in EPD’s, but fully realize that they are only as good as the information provided to the association. Inaccurate weights and faulty contemporary groups lead to poor information and bad selection decisions.

Please realize that these cattle were in different contemporary groupings at weaning; therefore, it is not fair to compare birth weaning and yearling weights from one herd to another. A wide range of environments are represented in this offering and thus have affected those weights, plus different management comes into play, i.e. creep fed vs. not creep fed. Within herd weights and ratios were good when that was the only information we had. However, EPD’s are a much better indicator of genetic potential and are the only way across herd comparisons can be made. Also, we have listed the current non-parent Brangus breed average EPD’s in the catalog for your reference and comparison on how individual lots compare to the average of the breed in any trait.

MAINTENANCE AFTER THE SALE

CDP Brangus will work with customers on delivery of cattle in an effort to have the cattle delivered to customers as soon as possible after the sale. However, if you are not ready for the cattle at this time we will maintain the cattle at the ranch for a period of time until you are ready for them. A nominal fee of $3.50 per day will be charged plus any veterinary charges incurred will be billed. Cattle will be maintained on a growing ration in grass traps. Cattle become the buyer’s responsibility immediately after the sale. CDP Brangus is not responsible for insurance costs or death.

The Brangus Value Project

Everyone knows the value of a Brangus cow. The Brangus Value Project tests the value of Brangus steers.

Ninety research steers sired by five widely-used Brangus and Ultrablack sires were fed and harvested in southwest Kansas in the winter/spring of 2022.

Performance was compared against a southwest KS benchmark of same-weight steers placed on feed at the same time.

The steers were sold on a carcass merit grid.

The results didn’t surprise us because we look at Brangus data every day. But, some people may not realize what modern Brangus and Ultrablack cattle can do beyond the ranch gate.

Payweight

Steers finished at 1449lbs and yielded well to produce average carcass weight of 936lbs.

There’s No Payday Without Payweight! j

Premium Payweight

When sold on a carcass merit grid, they netted $64/head premium over the prevailing live price.

Efficient Payweight

On 700lbs of feedlot gain, they gained 3.94lbs/day compared to southwest KS benchmark steers at 3.16. They converted feed 1/2lb per pound of gain better than the benchmark, netting $52/head in feed savings.

ABOUT OUR BULL DEVELOPMENT

Here at CDP Brangus we are always ready to adapt and adjust to the times in terms of growing and feeding our bulls, ultimately with our customer’s best interests in mind, which in turn, benefits us as seedstock producers. Longevity, soundness, and fertility are all factors that we feel must be taken into account when developing our bulls so that you, as our consumer, get an end product that can be turned out into your cowherd and have the ability to service your cows and come out of the breeding season having maintained his body condition score. This will, in turn, allow him to recover and be ready to be turned out again in the next season with very little additional supplementation, year after year. We have tried an assortment of feeding programs throughout our journey and have landed on, what we and many others feel, is the answer to all of our bull development needs.

Keith Cagle at Rose Bud Feeders brings 25+ years of bull development experience to the table and has tweaked and adjusted his ration with assistance from the Caldwell family through the years until they have totally perfected the bull feeding game. The fallout rate of the CDP bulls since we started feeding with Keith has been the least in our history of growing and selling bulls and we’re confident that you will continue to experience the same trend when you get your new CDP bull’s home.

The ration that these bulls are developed on is a grass silagebased feed with commodities added to balance the ration for protein, fat, and TDN with the goal set to have the bulls gaining an average in the 3-3.5 pounds per day range across the feeding stage until they become yearlings. A mineral pack is also added to every mix to ensure that their vitamin and mineral intake is consistent and meets their development needs.

The post-weaned bull calves, already having received their vaccinations before arriving at the Rose Bud Bull Test Center, will immediately begin their transition onto the silage diet for a 30-day warm

up period before being weighed onto gain test. After they are fully transitioned onto the silage ration, they are weighed and evaluated as they begin their 90 day gain test where they will remain in their contemporary groups until its completion.

At the conclusion of the 90 day test, the bulls are weighed, scrotal circumference measured along with Donnie Robertson taking carcass ultrasound measurements. Once the collected raw data is all turned in to the Brangus Association, adjusted weights and measurements are used to further evaluate each and every bull for quality, structural soundness, and disposition, making sure that every standard and benchmark is met or exceeded. The bulls are sorted and grouped according to type and kind with quality and uniformity in mind and will be monitored from then on for any issues that may arise and will remain in these groups until sale day.

One of the things that we take pride in at CDP Brangus is the ability for our bulls to be handled by any means necessary. Meaning that we want them to experience every possible handling method that they could possibly see before arrival at their new home. These bulls are handled on foot, both alone and as a group, horseback, with dogs, as well as four wheelers and side by sides and they have all passed the test, which will allow you to take comfort knowing that these bulls will handle for you when the time comes to move them.

The work has all been done for you and we’re confident in our process and we think you will enjoy reaping the benefits of that process.

BEST PRODUCING DAUGHTER OF 535A8

MS DMR CAPITALIST 535F2. Where do we even begin to describe a donor of this caliber and that has generated as much revenue in her young life and is easily the most proven daughter of the immortal 535A8 donor? We could start off by telling you a little bit about her early life where she posted an adjusted YW of 973 pounds and scanned an adjusted REA of 11.66 square inches, but what we’d really like for you to notice is the 9.03 adjusted IMF scan that she posted and how after having over 100 calves registered out of her with many more in the pipeline, she still ranks in the top 2% for her IMF EPD. Some of the notable progeny that she has produced to date are the $20,000, DMR MAIN STREET 535J26 bull who now resides at Circle F Farms, the $25,000 WAT STEADFAST 535K71 who now resides at Greenwood Cattle Co, and the $40,000, DMR MR SMOOTH 535K44 who splits

his time at Garry Clem Brangus as well as B5M Brangus. Not only has she placed these herdsires in several progressive herds across the country but the replacement and donor females that she has produced have truly made her genetic footprint a big part of the Brangus population. The ET calves that we have coming forward now are sired by some of the outcross genetics to our program and the calves that we will continue to market out of her sired by: Empower, Final Time, Mile Marker, Frontline and others will be sure to only increase her popularity and ensure her place in the Brangus history books. She has consistently averaged 12–14 transferable embryos in IVF collections and is open and ready to flush now. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to own the best producing daughter of MS DMR CORONADO 535A8, and one of the most impressive donors ever produced by Draggin’ M Ranch.

One of the best producing Majestic Beacon daughters in the breed comes to you here and she’s out of the highly proven MS DMR CORONADO 415A7 donor and is a flush mate sister to the now deceased $51,000 dam of both Palo Grande and Express who fetched a combined total of $100,000, MS DMR BEACON 415E133. Making a name for herself in her own right, she has generated nearly $100,000 in progeny sales with calves sired by Dynamic, Masterpiece, and Cash Flow. Right here in El Dorado in our Spring CDP Sale, TTT sold a Growth Fund daughter out of her full sister, 415E133, for $42,000 and the last time we flushed 415E134 this spring she produced 31 transferable embryos sired by Growth Fund, so needless to say, we’re excited for that mating to start hitting the ground. If you’re looking to get into the Embryo Transfer world, here’s a donor out of one of the most proven matriarch’s in the breed that has a production history that speaks for itself.

IMPRESSIVE PHENOTYPE UB1

A truly balanced Ultrablack female comes to you here in terms of both phenotype as well as her genetic merit. When you take a look at the EPD profile that she posts, you really have to admire the combination of growth, maternal traits, as well as carcass quality that she exhibits. From a phenotypic standpoint, she is one of the most attractive mature cows in the offering which is not uncommon with her sire, Connealy Capitalist 028, who has sired several UB donors in the Draggin’ M herd as well as across the whole breed. Flushed late in life after proving herself as a productive member of the Draggin’ M herd, she has averaged 9 transferable conventional embryos with most of her ET production still to be marketed in the coming years. Take a look at the New Standard heifer calf that she has at side and consider that mating for her next collection.

The 60 cow family just continues to push the envelope in terms of consistency and quality, not only just in the Brangus world but across the entire marketplace as a whole, and this powerful Empire son is a true testament to their heritage. The now deceased Basin Lucy 60X donor left behind a total of 63 progeny that have been registered in the Brangus herd book and the number of herdsires and donor females that she has produced is almost too long to list, but lets start with MS DMR BUSINESS LINE 60H, just for fun. Moderate framed, and honestly one of the most complete Business Line daughters to graze the pastures at Draggin’ M, she calved right on time to her AI date before her second birthday and was immediately pulled into the donor pen to be flushed and she hasn’t looked back since with several sons selling in this offering. One of her most notable siblings, MS DMR BUSINESS LINE 60H4, sold to our great friend Peanut Carr for $39,000 as a weaned heifer calf and was as impressive of an individual for her age as we have ever raised. take a look at the top side of this great young bull’s pedigree you see a familiar name in Empire, one of the most consistent producing herd sires in the breed and arguably the best producing son of the highly used TJM Three D 30A bull. The Empire sired progeny have got the look and the style that have kept him relevant for many years and he’s still one of the biggest semen seller’s in the CDP program today. Take a look at the overall package that DMR HEADLINER 60L8 brings to the table and don’t let that pesky Milk EPD scare you away. His mother has an abundance of Milk and we’ve calved more Empire daughters out than anybody and can attest with 100% confidence that Milk is not an issue. Come partner with Draggin’ M on this great young herd sire. He has already frozen 350+ straws of semen that will go along with the purchase of the bull so we’ll be ready to start his marketing campaign immediately. Selling 1/2 semen interest and full possession. Draggin’ M Ranch retains 1/2 semen interest.

The Growth Fund bull made his mark in a big way here in the CDP Brangus Fall Sale in 2023, with progeny averaging over $15,000 in the female sale and over $10,000 in the bull sale and it’s really no surprise when you look at what the bull is doing in the programs that have used him as far as quality and consistency. The females he produces are wide bodied with loads of dimension and stoutness and the bull mates are perfect sheathed and consistently sorted to the front end of their contemporaries, but none have been better than DMR HEDGE FUND 99L3. From the day he was born he has been a standout in his age group and being the natural calf of his donor dam, he was in the pen quite a bit in his early life and was always the crowd favorite against some pretty stiff competition. He crushed the scales at weaning with an adjusted weight of 770 pounds to ratio 118 and then went onto a 106 ratio for YW, and a 102 ratio for Ribeye

Area. His dam, who is one of the neatest uddered and best producing Empire daughters that we’ve raised to date, traces back to the Calyx Star herd and our great friends Robert and Margie Field, and she’s also the dam of DMR GUNSMOKE 99H31 who now resides at 2C Brangus with our great friend, Brad Cotton. When you evaluate Hedge Fund on paper, you really have to appreciate the balanced set of genomics that he projects with moderate calving ease to a top 4% WW, top 10% YW, TM, and SC, and top 25% REA ranking. The work has all been done for you and the time to strike is now. Hedge Fund has already frozen 200+ straws of ET quality semen and is ready to go to work for your program.

BEST DYNAMIC SON EVER MADE

The Dynamic bull was the $50,000 choice by JRT Brangus in the fall of 2020 as their next herdsire and the bull to take them into the future. Sadly, he died before his time, but the sons and daughters that he left behind are truly making an impact everywhere they go. Naturally, with semen nearly impossible to find on Dynamic, we start the search for his replacement to carry the torch into the future. Enter SEWELL’S DESPERADO 99L12. Without a doubt in any of our minds, he’s the best Dynamic son produced to date, and it’s really not even close. From a phenotypic standpoint, you couldn’t draw a bigger hipped, wider topped, and bolder sprung bull if you tried, but he ties all of that power and mass into a soft made and free moving package. From a genomic stance he writes a near perfect set of EPD tabulations highlighted by his spread from calving ease to weaning

and yearling, along with his top 15% ranking for REA and top 25% ranking for IMF. The donor dam that he stems from is none other than MS DMR CHILL FACTOR 99H4 who already produced a highlight yearling female that was a flushmate sib to Desperado that sold in Houston for $25,000 to Cavender Brangus, but she also produced a Big Town daughter that sold in the Spring CDP sale as a yearling for $20,000 that now resides at Roaring Hills Ranch. If you’re looking for a bull that will only keep you out of the ditches and maintain the status quo, just walk on by. But if you’re looking for a herd sire to replace Dynamic in terms of genetic merit as well as semen sales, here’s your bull.

His donor dam is one of the most consistent producing Resource daughters at Draggin’ M and his sire, Dynamic needs no further introduction in this sale offering. Take a look at the EPD projections that he posts with his modest birth weight and then huge weaning and yearling postings to go with a top 4% ranking for REA. The options are endless for this stout made herdsire prospect, from siring replacement females to grow your herd to putting pounds on your steer crop to hang on the rail.

If you came to buy a calving ease Ultrablack bull that is packed with red meat and carcass quality in a user friendly and attractive package then you need look no further. DMR EMPIRE 1373L3 from a phenotypic standpoint may be the most impressive bull to sell anywhere this fall, but his genetic merit is just as impressive. He’s not the big power bull like some of the other standouts in this sale but as far as calving ease to weaning and yearling, he’s more than acceptable and with the top 4% ranking for REA and top 10% projection for IMF, he’ll add quality to your cowherd. He also posts a top 3% ranking for the Heifer Pregnancy index as well as top 2% for the Stayability index, meaning his daughters will breed on time and stay in the herd as long as you need them to. The consistency of the Empire bull and the Z1373 donor give us great confidence in this calving ease herd sire prospect. Don’t miss him on sale day.

EXCITING DONOR DAM

MS DMR JETHRO 415J14 is a name that you might want to store in your memory bank because if you follow the Draggin’ M program, you’ll be hearing a lot more about this outstanding young donor in the near future. Aspirated as a virgin heifer, she produced matings sired by Big Lake as well as Masterpiece and there are good bulls and one outstanding spring bred heifer out of those collections that made it into this offering and they are standouts in every pen you find them in. But from a fertility standpoint, she impressed us even more by breeding first service AI right after her aspiration and staying in her calving season. The Jethro side of her pedigree provides an influx of outcross genetics added with the highly proven 415A7 donor to maintain consistency and predictability gives us great confidence in this young donor’s bright future. Big hipped, perfect sheath design, and a proven lineage of greatness on top and bottom will help this young herd sire to drive your program into the future.

LAST HERD SIRE OUT OF 60X

Here’s one that we’re really excited about. Take a good look at the EPD profile that this Modelo sired herdsire prospect brings to the table out of the famed Basin Lucy 60X donor. Top 1% for YW, top 1% for REA, top 1% for IMF. These kind of projections don’t come along very often and to be out of such a proven producing donor dam and the highly popular Modelo bull is just icing on the cake. When we take a look at his phenotypic data we see a modest birth weight of 86 pounds and then he explodes to weaning to weigh an adjusted 802 pounds, then carries on the trend to a 1337 pound adjusted yearling weight with an adjusted

17.18 square inch Ribeye Area and a 6.78 adjusted IMF scan. His perfect sheath and foot design, 5 star disposition, and combination of proven and current genetics to go along with his unrivaled EPD profile leave DMR ULTRA 60L9 poised to make a big statement in the industry in a positive way. Here’s your chance to own one of the last sons ever out of the famed Basin Lucy 60X donor, so don’t miss it.

A couple of years ago, we at Draggin’ M purchased a flush on the famous 30D cow and we flushed her to Cash Flow and Big Lake, but our friend Mr. Bo Herndon was kind enough to throw in a couple of extra embryos and this herd sire prospect is the result of his generosity. OUTSTANDING EMPOWER SON

Here’s the Empower son that we’ve all been waiting for and man is he a special one. In terms of cow power, you couldn’t write a more star studded lineup for a pedigree when picking out your next herdsire than what TTT EMPOWER 415L71 has in his lineage. Starting on the topside of his pedigree you have to appreciate T3 MS THREE D 30D and all that shes done to better the breed but even more impressive is the bottom side of his pedigree in MS DMR CAPITALIST 415D who in her day was the highest selling and most exciting UB1 female in the breed and her dam is the highly prolific 415R23 donor that produced close to 250 progeny in her time. From a phenotypic standpoint 415L71 carries all of the mass and dimension that we’ve come to appreciate from both his sire and dam,

but he’s cleaner fronted and tighter sheathed than many of his paternal brothers. When you pull back the hide and examine his genomic makeup you have to first take note of the top 2% YW and top 3% WW projections to go along with his top 1% REA ranking. He also ranks in the top 15% for Heifer Pregnancy and top 25% for Stayability which is no surprise when you factor in the maternal strength that he possesses. If you’re ready to take your program to the next level and compete with the industry leaders, then you’ll need to put this one on your short list.

Take a look at the phenotype in the outstanding young Justified son out of a great young donor female that traces back to the great 99E4 donor on the bottom side and the 535A8 donor on the topside. You can’t help but notice the overall mass and muscle this great bull carries and he could very well be the widest pinned and stoutest topped bull in the offering. He’s the kind of bull that could sire your next show heifer, as well as your next herd sire prospect. Above average growth to go along with top 15% carcass traits and out of a highly proven and prolific cow family paired with his striking phenotype will make EB JUSTIFIED 99L35 a very popular bull on sale week.

A PICK OF THREE FLUSH MATE BROTHERS

DYNAMIC X 60C2

The 60C2 Passport donor was the choice of Sewell Cattle from the Cavender Brangus herd and since her arrival in El Dorado, she has done nothing but impress everyone with her ability to put outstanding progeny on the ground. One of the most prolific daughters of the late, great, Basin Lucy 60X donor, she has recorded 58 calves to date out of Investment, Empire, and Never Surrender, but perhaps her best mating has been to Dynamic. When we sorted these yearling bulls for the sale we couldn’t agree on which one we liked the best so we decided that the smart thing to do would be to let the customer’s decide so we’re going to sell these 3 young herd sire prospects choice or times the money. While the three bulls offered all have a few distinguishing characteristics that set them apart from each other, the are all three consistently wide bodied, big topped and clean sheathed. You won’t go wrong no matter which one you choose, but if you don’t choose first someone else might get the one you wanted.

WITHDRAWAL PERIODS AND RESIDUE WARNINGS:

Cattle must not be slaughtered for human consumption within 15 days following last treatment with this drug product. Not for use in female dairy cattle 20 months of age or older, including dry dairy cows; use in these cattle may cause drug residues in milk and/or in calves born to these cows or heifers. Not for use in beef calves less than 2 months of age, dairy calves, and veal calves. A withdrawal period has not been established for this product in pre-ruminating calves.

User Safety Warnings:

Animal Safety Warnings and Precautions:

Use of levamisole in cattle treated in the last few days with cholinesterase inhibitors such as organophosphates or with morantel may enhance the toxic effects of levamisole. Use together with caution.

Destruction of Hypoderma larvae (cattle grubs) at the period when these grubs are in vital areas may cause undesirable host-parasite reactions including the possibility of fatalities. Killing H. lineatum when it is in the tissue surrounding the gullet may cause bloat; killing H. bovis when it is in the vertebral canal may cause staggering or paralysis. These reactions are not specific to treatment with VALCOR™ and can occur with any successful treatment of grubs. Cattle should be treated either before or after these stages of grub development. Consult your veterinarian concerning the proper time for treatment. Follow recommended dosage carefully. Reproductive safety has not been evaluated in bulls intended for breeding.

ADVERSE REACTIONS:

This product is likely to cause swelling at the injection site. Tissue damage at the injection site may also occur, including possible granulomas and necrosis. These reactions have resolved without treatment. Local tissue reaction may result in trim loss of edible tissue at slaughter. A single death attributed to clostridial infection associated with the injection of VALCOR™ was reported in a nonpivotal effectiveness study. Observe cattle for injection site reactions. If injection site reactions are suspected, consult your veterinarian. This product is not for intravenous or intramuscular use. Hypersalivation may be observed; however, this reaction will disappear within a few hours. If this condition persists, a veterinarian should be consulted.

TARGET ANIMAL SAFETY:

Margin of Safety: Subcutaneous administration of VALCOR™ was well tolerated in calves as young as 3 months of age at 1, 2, or 3 times the recommended dose. Dose-dependent post-dose hypersalivation was seen in all treated groups compared to the controls. All cases of hypersalivation were mild, transient, and resolved without further medical intervention. Dose-related injection site reactions were observed, and those in the 1X group resolved between 21 and 28 days post injection. Injection site reactions were primarily swelling which resolved between 21 and 28 days post injection. Findings from the injection sites included swelling, edema, inflammation, muscle necrosis and fibrosis.

Female Reproductive Safety: The reproductive safety of VALCOR™ was established in two studies with female cattle. First, a single dose of VALCOR™ was administered subcutaneously at 3 times the recommended dose at times coinciding with folliculogenesis, implantation, or organogenesis, and had no effects on conception, calving, abortion, and stillbirth rates, and post-natal viability up to 30±2 days post-calving. There were no congenital abnormalities. The only test article-related change was an increase in incidence and duration of swelling at injection sites compared with control, but all swellings eventually resolved. In a second study, a single dose of VALCOR™ administered subcutaneously at 3 times the recommended dose at either early or late gestation had no effects on calving, abortion, and stillbirth rates, and post-natal viability up to 30±2 days post-calving. One control calf and two treated calves were born with congenital abnormalities and did not survive. These were not determined to be test article-related. The only test article-related change was an increase in incidence and duration of swelling at injection sites, but all swellings eventually resolved. Not for use in bulls intended for breeding over 1 year of age, as reproductive safety has not been evaluated.
