elcome to our final issue of CDi this year, Issue

2024 certainly feels like it has flown by as we approach the end of the year, especially considering everything that has happened over the past 12 months. With Christmas around the corner, I am keen to call out some of our highlights from this year, not forgetting that our hardworking operational teams are busy right to the end of the year, getting increased stock deliveries put away to maximise range and availability for the start of the new year.

The Aftermarket in Ireland continues to evolve giving rise to both challenges and opportunities. In terms of opportunities, our focus has very much been about improving how we support our customers, provide a good route to market for supplier partners, and provide a positive work environment for all team members.

As part of this, we have invested a further €1m+ in stock this year, both widening our ranges and increasing our depth to support volume growth. This has improved our range and our first pick availability, but we still have further opportunities to be better in certain product segments, which we will focus on for 2025. Our commercial team have worked incredibly hard on strengthening existing supply partnerships, ahead of looking for new brands, yet we remain open to expanding our supplier relationships to ensure that we are able to provide the right solutions for customers. The focus of this activity is around our core hard parts business for car and light commercial customers. We ceased with our refinish business in 2023, and we will continue to focus only on activity that strengthens our core business.

An area that has been both a challenge and an opportunity has been IT where we have invested heavily in our infrastructure in 2024. Since the start of the year, we have rolled out ongoing improvements by re-cabling the 3 sites, a new network, new routing, new switches and upgraded security and storage. The final large infrastructure step has been migrating all systems to the cloud, which we completed at the start of December.

This has been an enormous undertaking, and I am thankful to our IT team and all colleagues for putting up with the challenges to get us to this point. I know this will have had knock on effects to customers too and I thank you for your patience, as I know for example, that paperwork has been inconsistent with goods. Now that we are on this new platform our objective is for improved uptime and process.

More excitingly it now gives us the infrastructure to invest further with tools to help with accuracy and consistency, and outward activities such as customer connectivity and integration moving forwards. We are keen to work with customers in a more joined up fashion around ordering, invoice matching and any other process we can be better so please ask your account manager if there are areas where you think we can help.

MechanExpert continues to go from strength to strength. With 9 roadshows and the ATJ Expo under our belt it has been another successful year with attendees exposed to our diagnostic solutions from Bosch, showcased in partnership with MKW Training at the ATJ Expo. As technology changes and the training requirements along with it, we are committed to exposing mechanics to what equipment they will need, and what our partner brands are offering to ensure the aftermarket remains a healthy industry

for us all, for years to come. Our commitment to training will continue throughout 2025 with the calendar starting to fill up. If you are interested in hosting a technical roadshow or a training session for your customers next year, please reach out to your Account Manager—we are always ready to provide the support you and your customers need.

Finally, and most importantly, I want to thank you for your continued support throughout the year. I was delighted to see that CD Group was awarded 2025 Wholesale Parts Distributor of the Year at the recent ATJ Expo Awards. This is recognition for the hard work and dedication of all colleagues in all sites. I am delighted for them, and we are grateful to you for your votes, thank you. I hope your business has thrived this year and will finish 2024 on a strong note. Wraps Up 2024 at the Auto Trade Expo

MechanExpert has now concluded its nine roadshows for the year as well as exhibiting at the 2024 Auto Trade Expo, held on October 12th-13th at the RDS in Dublin. The event, organized by Auto Trade Journal, brought together automotive professionals for a weekend of industry updates and practical demonstrations.

MKW Training Partnering with MKW Training, MechanExpert showcased the latest diagnostic tools from Bosch, including Secure Gateway technology and live demos on an electric vehicle. The MKW team were on hand to answer technical questions and provide insights into modern vehicle diagnostics all weekend on the MechanExpert stand.

Bosch Friction The stand also featured a comparison between an unbranded twopiece compound brake disc and Bosch's Two Piece Compound disc, illustrating the quality difference alongside the like-for-like quality of genuine dealership OE standards.
