We would like to offer you some publications that will help you to reflect on the call that God makes to each person today, the meaning of life, and the complementarity of the different vocations within the church. They are publications to arouse dialogue with someone who accompanies you. Meditate and if you like, share your reflection with us.

Does life have sense? The word “sense” is used with two different meanings:

1.

To indicate “direction”

2.

To indicate “meaning” What sense does this have?

When one asks what is the sense of life, one is asking what direction does life have and what is the meaning of our existence.

• Does human life have a meaning? • Where are you going? • How are you orienting your actions? • What is the sense of pain, suffering, death? • Is life worth living?

No one may answer these questions for you; you must answer them yourself.

Losing the sense of life • There are no ideals or goals • There is depression • There is sadness • Desperation • Hopelessness • Suicide

Non sense on life

Wrong ideas about life Living for enjoyment Living in order to have Living for power and fame

Christ gives sense to human life What sense does the life you live have? Is it worthwhile to make a commitment for this life? Is it possible to have hope?

Christ gives us our origin • Dignity • Identity • Courage • Love • Salvation and likeness • Sense of life

The life you have is a gift that God has given to you. You are invited to respond with love and joy.

If you only had one week of life: What would you do that week? With whom would you want to talk? Would you ask forgiveness for something?

Reflection Activity • Mention what attitudes in young people lead to death. • Mention some attitudes that generate life. • What changes do you want to make in order to live more fully. • Give an example of an attitude of death and how it can be changed into life.
