Juvenile Reports are often issued for fighting during school arrival and departure times. Officers of the Co-op City Department of Public Safety are strategically placed adjacent to the schools for the purpose of protecting the life and property of the residents of Co-op City. Students are encouraged to walk directly home or promptly board the bus to return home. Co-op City’s playgrounds are exclusively for the use of supervised children ages 12 and under. Tot lots are for use by children 7 and under also with adult supervision required. Co-op City children should respond right home after school and then return back to the playground with their parents after the school dismissal crowd has left the community. Parental supervision is always a requirement for use of Co-op City’s playgrounds and Tot Lots.

Parents of school age children should encourage children to respond home without delay and refrain from engaging in fighting while on the way to and from school. Parents should also make sure students are always in possession of the proper bus pass or MetroCard for boarding the bus. Any theft or loss of a bus pass should be reported immediately in order that a replacement card can be issued. Children should be instructed to never board the buses from the rear door. This act is dangerous and also illegal. Summonses are actively issued for boarding buses without payment or school-issued MetroCard. Plainclothes MTA officers are often used for payment enforcement especially on the Special Express buses.

Public Safety Blotter

A cooperator reported a confirmed delivered package removed by an unknown individual from in front of her apartment door without her permission.

Officers of the Co-op City Department of Public Safety prepare Juvenile Reports when persons between ages seven through seventeen commit offenses of the law. The Juvenile Report is a New York City Police Department form which is utilized when certain types of offenses are committed by persons under the age of 18. Preparation of the Juvenile Report takes the place of an arrest for all Violations and some Misdemeanors. When a Juvenile Report is issued, it is forwarded to the Youth Officer at the 45th Precinct. The Youth Officer at the 45th Precinct determines what type of follow up is required. Parents of the child are often contacted to monitor future activity. The Juvenile Report starts the process of intervention before serious delinquent activity begins.

A Co-op City Community Complaint is also issued when the child is a Co-op City resident and the offense was committed within the confines of Co-op City. The Co-op City Community Complaint carries a monetary fine and can be added to the monthly carrying charges. Subsequent violations result in doubled fines. Fines can be automatically added to the monthly rent. Rent will not be accepted without payment in full, including the additional charges for Community Complaints. Late fees will be assessed. Multiple violations can lead to eviction. This helps to maintain a high quality of life and low crime rate within the community.

Both Public Safety and the New York City Police Department take action regarding truant youths. During the school day, it is the parents’ expectation that their child is safe because they are in school. When children leave the school building without permission during the school day, they are no longer safe. It is important that parents stress the importance of remaining in school until they are dismissed. Leaving school during the school day impacts the student’s education and is also against the law.

Below are the answers to each question. Test and see how well you did. For those who answered some questions incorrectly, let us look at a few facts about prostate cancer.

On September 25, the garden will be hosting our annual Craft Exhibition where members get to show off their beautiful creations. It is a great time of year to visit the garden, enjoy the artists, the music and the new friends.

Section Five – The pathway around the curve has been completed and barriers have been installed to divide the entire length of the curve. The new barriers look good and we hope they will remain that way. What is next, we do not know. Hopefully, it will all be shared with the shareholders via town hall meetings. It is noted the Secretary of DOT, Nivardo Lopez, met with Riverbay Mangement to discuss the risk of our underground communication and utilities that service Section 5. However, as shareholders, we are part of this critical process and have the right to voice our opinions and concerns to DOT.

How many facts do you know about prostate cancer? Are you ready to take on the challenge? Grab a pencil and paper and answer the questions below. Remember, it is ok if you do not get only to test your knowledge but also to help you gain more insight about prostate cancer and its symptoms. True or False:

The most common symptoms associated with prostate cancer include trouble urinating, blood in the urine, blood in the semen, bone pain, losing weight without trying, decreased force in the stream of urine, excessive urination, and erectile dysfunction. Prostate cancer can also spread to nearby organs such as the bladder and travel through the blood and lymphatic system to the bones and other organs in the body. There is no sure way to prevent prostate cancer. But you can do things that might lower your risk, such as staying at a healthy weight, exercising, and incorporating healthy foods into your diet—calling all women to encourage the men in their lives to follow up on their prostate status.

Approximately 50,000 people reside in Co-op City. We work, play and travel in many circles, but we joined this community because we aspire to live affordably. Now that the housing moratorium has ended, affordable housing has become even more important. Affordable housing is a term that describes many different housing arrangements, but essentially, residents of affordable housing have to meet certain criteria and the housing may be targeted to low or moderate income residents. Co-op City is ative in the northeast Bronx for middle income resclosely to the average income of both New York State and nationally. We have agreed to live cooperatively and to share in this mission. Co-op City is unique, not just because we are the largest single residential development in the United States, but also because as shareholders, we mutually own our property. As owners, we are responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of our property.

It was a beautiful, clear, sunny day with blue I went for a run around Co-op City before work with Allison, my running buddy. We greeted the same two women who we passed every morning, walking in the opposite direction. Shortly after I arrived in chaos in the streets as everyone tried to escape New York City. My employer offered to let us sleep in able to get out of the city without too much trouble. When I got back to Co-op City, people were routinely going about their business, shopping, waiting at bus stops, children coming from school, as though we had not just been attacked on U.S. soil. It wasMonthssurreal.later, at a holiday celebration with a neighbor, I realized that one of the other guests was one of the walkers that I used to greet every morning. It was so good to see her. She shared with me that her walking partner was among the missing, other friends, neighbors and loved ones lost from the Co-op City community that day and I want to pay tribute to each of them and the people who loved

and cared for them.

Public Safety requests that if you avail yourself of one of these scooters, once you complete your rental, please be re spectful to your fellow shareholders. We request that you place the scooter you are parking in a location that does not interfere with other shareholders enter ing or leaving our buildings. Avoid leaving them in the middle of the sidewalk, and do not place them where they may create a trip hazard. As Co-op City has a large elderly population, be mindful that our senior citizens may have a difficult time navigating around these scooters if left in an inconvenient location. Please, be mindful that the scooters should never be brought into one of our buildings or left in a lobby.

It is important that we keep our heart right with God with oil in our vessels, tress of nations, with perplexity, and when men’s hearts are failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth, for the pow ers of heaven shall be shaken. Signs are telling us that these are the days when evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. Noah had spent many years building the ark, and he knew that the season for di vine judgment was near, but he did not know the exact day. The same applies to us in this time, we have seen signs and wonders, strange things are happening all around us, but we do not know the day and time of Christ’s return. Therefore, let us maintain a sweet fellowship with God and be prepared for the coming of our Lord and Savior.

“Then shall the kingdom of heaven be like unto ten virgins, which took their were foolish. They that were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. While the bridegroom tar ried, they all slumbered and slept. And at midnight there was a cry made, behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him. Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. And the foolish said unto the wise, give us of your oil, for our lamps are gone out. But the wise answered, saying, not so; lest there be not enough for us and you, but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves. And while they went the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage and the door was shut. Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us but he answered and said, verily I say unto you I know you not Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the son of man cometh.” (Matthew 25:1-13) The son of man will soon return in an hour that we think not. Therefore, let us give ourselves to prayer and patient ly studying the word of God, and be prepared for His return.
