HOSPITAL WARD

With thanks to the Strategic Development Fund (SDF), Cheshire College was able to reshape the teaching and training provision, and update the facilities within the Health and Life Sciences area of the College.

This resulted in a cutting-edge 8-bed replica hospital ward being built at Crewe Campus with cutting-edge equipment and facilities so that students with ambitions to train or upskill in the healthcare and life sciences sector can learn the higher technical skills that employers are looking for.

ANATOMAGE TABLES

Crewe Campus

An Anatomage Table is the only fully segmented real human 3D anatomy system.

Providing a 3D experience for students, our Anatomage dissection tables allow students to visualise anatomy exactly as they would on a fresh cadaver but the table also allows for exploration and learning of human anatomy beyond what any cadaver could offer.

ACADEMY

RESTAURANTS Our award-winning Academy and Academy West Restaurants are based at our Crewe and Ellesmere Port Campuses and are open to the public.

From the bespoke production kitchens on-site, Cheshire College’s highly trained Hospitality and Catering students create and serve fine dining dishes using locally sourced produce from Cheshire and on the Wirral.

Cheshire College boasts their very own hair salons, beauty salons and a therapy spa which includes a sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and floatation tank.

These contemporary facilities allow students to develop their skills to the highest level and experience hands-on training when providing a real service to members of the public.

ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION WORKSHOPS

Cheshire College’s new Construction and Engineering facility is a result of a £10m investment, a large part of that being T Level funding. The area includes technologies such as 3D printers, CAD equipment, robotics and a brand new motor vehicle workshop with a plug-in hybrid EVA area for electric and hybrid vehicles.

Students studying T Levels and BTECs, alongside adults that are enrolled on a variety of technical-based courses, benefit greatly from these facilities as they can augment their training through access to cutting-edge equipment that will enable students to gain the skills they need to secure sustainable futures within the industry.

SUSTAINABLE HOUSE

Ellesmere Port Campus

To cater for an ever-increasing demand for sustainable and environmentally friendly properties, the next generation of construction workers are learning new skills in different ways and work is also underway to upskill those already in the trade to meet improved sustainability standards.

Working with local partner businesses, Cheshire College is erecting its own fully functioning sustainable house on Campus with the purpose of allowing students on various courses to be able to explore, examine and learn from the house.

This hands-on approach will help develop new skills and tackle the UK’s current skills shortage as the house will allow students of all ages to work on the maintenance, as well as installation of sustainable features, for example looking at the servicing of ground source heat pumps and how they work.

DIGITAL HUB The importance of digital skills and access to technology has never been more apparent than it is today.

Chester Campus

Cheshire College’s Chester Campus boasts a purpose-built Digital Hub that provides Computing and Media students with an environment that embraces new technologies.

As well as the College’s students, the Digital Hub, its expert teaching staff and tools also benefit local employers and businesses that are seeking to develop the digital confidence within their workforce.

ESPORTS STUDIOS

By 2027, the global video game market industry is expected to have a revenue forecast of £219 billion.

Cheshire College’s Esports students have the opportunity to study in industry-standard Esport studios on Campus with fantastic technology at their fingertips. Using the facilities, the students compete in national competitions and develop a vast array of key skills including, teamwork, communication, leadership skills, confidence building, decision making, reaction times, reading comprehension skills, cyber skills, dexterity and concentration. info@ccsw.ac.uk

THEATRES The Colleges’ theatres host many different shows and performances throughout the year, and collaborating with companies across the region, the Centre Stage Theatre and its facilities showcases the incredible talent of those working on and off stage.
