• Limb trees up at least 6 feet above the ground, and remove any branches that make contact with your home or are within 10 feet of a chimney or furnace vent

• Cover all external vents with 1/8" metal screening to protect against embers

• Clear spaces under decks and stairs of flammable material

• Completely cover exposed wood piles with a fire-resistant material, unless you are able to store wood 30 feet from all structures.

Pursuant to Truckee Fire 14 CCR 1299.03: In the first section of Zone 1/within 30 feet of all structures or to the property line, it states on item G. Relocate exposed wood piles outside of Zone 1 unless completely covered by a fire-resistant material.
