sUMMER ON THE SLOPES

If you’ve ever done the popular easy hike to Snowflake Lodge during the summertime (1.2 miles each way up a fairly mellow fire road), you may have witnessed our summertime maintenance crews out working on the lifts, prepping the snowmaking system, clearing brush, or one of the myriad other tasks that get done during the offseason to prepare the mountain for ski season. resort and make Diamond Peak their home mountain. Below are just some of the reasons our pass holders choose to buy a Diamond Peak season pass:

“This is a gem of a ski resort: it has a true neighborhood feel as it is mostly frequented by locals, who know the terrain like the back of their hand, many of them having grown up skiing the slopes here. I love that on a usual day you can ski right up to a chair and there is usually no wait. Also, the folks who work here are super friendly. Having said that, it can get busier on holidays and some weekends, but the lines are usually not longer than 15 minutes.” – Gen M. (Yelp review)

“Well after skiing 89 days so far this year what more can I ask for?? Greatest ski year of my LIFE!!!” – Survey Taker

“We've skied Diamond Peak with my now 6.5 year old twins for the past three seasons (we had season passes for the past two seasons). As an avid skier pre-kids, I had always stuck to the bigger Continued on page 40

Tahoe resorts and only discovered Diamond Peak when my kids were ready to ski. This really is an ideal place for families with young children. The runs are short but just right for the stamina of the younger kids. They do have a nice progression of runs (greens, blues, blacks) accessed off lifts nearby to each other, so it's easy to find your group again if you decide to separate for a run or two. The view of Lake Tahoe on the blue run off Crystal Express is amazing (definitely among the best of any Tahoe resort)…” – Michelle J (Yelp review)

“Diamond Peak is the best. We honestly kind of regret getting the Epic pass because we enjoy DP so much and spend most of our days there. The staff is always so nice, the slopes are great, and the food is even better and Tony is our favorite!” – Survey Taker

This past spring, a group of individuals, businessmen, and women launched the Incline Village Crystal Bay Community & Business Association (IVCBA). From day one, the IVCBA has not stopped its energetic passion and persistence from building community by supporting our local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and co-hosting seasonal community events for all to enjoy. So what have we been up to?

Everyone loved the parade, and then some

This past July 4th holiday we saw the first success of the fruits of everyone’s labor as we joined hands with numerous local agencies to celebrate our Independence in grand style. The Local Heroes Parade, in conjunction with the Rotary Club of Tahoe-Incline brought back the camaraderie in our community which is exactly what IVCBA is all about. Also, cheers to the kids in the community who kicked-off the fanfare and participated in the Kids Parade organized by the Incline Village General Improvement District.

After the parade, the Washoe County Sheriff’s “Meet & Greet” at Sierra Nevada University was a grand success as well. We are thrilled to have a fully staffed team watching out over our community once again.

A big shout out goes to the Veterans Club and the North Lake Tahoe Fire Prevention District for resuming their annual pancake breakfasts.

Be “In the Know” 24/7

Throughout the rest of 2021, we encourage you to click into our website at IVCBA.org. Within the website you will find themed and detailed pages that overflow with information, directions, and details to help you live a full life here on Lake Tahoe’s Nevada side of the North Shore. Also on the IVCBA.org website is an extensive presentation about all the businesses and services that are here for you.
