FACILITIES

Hello and happy 4th of July to everyone in the Incline Village and Crystal Bay community!
As we kick off the heart of summertime in our village, I hope you all have a chance to get out and enjoy the different venues and amenities that IVGID provides. Maybe that means enjoying a few rounds of golf at one of our award-winning courses, or a round of disc golf in our beautiful forested disc course (check out the new course map in this edition). Others might grab a partner and whack a ball back and forth over a net at the Tennis & Pickleball Center - whether you choose a tennis ball or pickleball is up to you.
If action sports is your thing (or your kids’ thing), the Incline Skate Park and the Robert & Robin Holman Family Bike Park are both great facilities for practicing your skills and meeting new friends. And just because it’s summer and the weather is nice, don’t forget about all the great classes, programs and workout equipment available yearround at the Incline Village Recreation Center - with great personal trainers available to help you get in peak fitness this summer!
Any list of amenities would not be complete without mentioning the
restricted-access beaches - truly the jewels of IVGID’s recreation portfolio. We are continuing to upgrade access controls and staffing at the beaches to better serve our residents and their guests, including adding even more Beach Ambassadors to assist with any beach-related questions or problems you may have while visiting our beaches.
Speaking of the beach, we’re excited to see the 4th of July fireworks returning to the Incline Village community, and our team is gearing up to handle the crowds who venture down to the beaches to view the spectacle. Please be courteous to our staff and follow the special rules in place to ensure everyone has a safe and memorable 4th of July experience!
Your IVGID Pass = Your Ticket To A Great Summer
For local residents with IVGID Passes, it’s super important to remember to bring your IVGID Recreation Pass (aka Picture Pass) with you to all of the IVGID venues you visit. Your IVGID Pass is the key to your access at the beaches, and your discounts at our venues. Our front-line staff at the venues CAN NOT just “look you up” in the system to determine what privileges you are entitled to without your IVGID Pass. And in order to comply with our Board of Trustees’ directives around access and discounts, they can not simply take your word that you have an IVGID Pass. So please don’t forget to bring it with you if you are asking for your IVGID discount or expecting to get into the restrictedaccess beaches. And if you are having any issues with your passes or need to change/renew them, stop by the Recreation Center and speak to the friendly folks at the Rec Counter.
Shout Out To Waste Not!
Living and working in such a beautiful place is a privilege, and one that we don’t take lightly. With that in mind, one of the programs I’ve come to appreciate more and more is our Waste Not department - which operates under the Public Works umbrella.
These staff provide resources for sustainable living in our mountain community, from bear awareness to household hazardous waste and e-waste recycling, with an emphasis on promoting all the benefits of drinking our award-winning Tahoe Tap® water to all who spend time in our community. If you’re unfamiliar with everything this department provides, I encourage you to check out the Sustainable Living section of our new website to learn more.
Finally, even though the outdoors beckons this time of year, there’s still a lot of business getting done inside the IVGID offices and at our Board of Trustees meetings this summer. As part of our new website (more details on that later in this magazine), all of our meeting agendas and packets have been moved over to the new CivicPlus portal, which should make staying informed and getting involved in the important decisions being made by your elected representatives even easier.
The rest of this magazine contains hundreds of ideas on how to live your best Tahoe life, so happy reading and happy summer!

NEW YOURTAHOEPLACE.COM WEBSITE
If you haven’t browsed IVGID’s new YourTahoePlace.com website recently, we encourage you to take a look. The Incline Village General Improvement District has recently upgraded our website platform to bring better functionality, modern design, increased security and accessibility to our website users.
In redesigning the YourTahoePlace.com site architecture, we asked our website development team - the Reno-based marketing and web development agency KPS3 - to look at our content with fresh eyes, with the goal of creating a user experience that works well for our local residents first and foremost, and also highlights the incredible services and amenities IVGID provides to all who visit our local community.

Notable changes you may notice - especially if you’re familiar with the old website structure - include the consolidation of IVGID’s governmental affairs, financial transparency and administrative functions under the “About IVGID” menu item in the website navigation. We’ve also created a new “Residents” menu item to host most of the information that’s only relevant to those who live and/or own property here in town including water, sewer and trash service information, IVGID Passes and Punch Cards details, and resources for sustainable living in the community.
In addition to this content restructuring, the new website includes additional design elements that help us consolidate information better and utilize more of the beautiful photos from throughout our community. And the new website should also look and work better on mobile devices, which make up over 50% of the traffic to our website in this day and age.
Feature wise, the site search functionality has been upgraded. Now, if you’re looking for a specific topic on the website, you can click the search magnifying glass icon (in the upper right) to search both webpages on the site, and/or documents uploaded to the site (e.g. PDFs that might include that search term). This functionality was requested by many of our community members, and we’re excited to roll it out.
New CivicPlus portal for meetings & agendas
Another big change website users will notice is the transition of all of our Board of Trustees meeting agendas and packets to their own dedicated online CivicPlus portal. You can dive directly into the CivicPlus portal at https://ivgid.portal. civicclerk.com/, or access it through the Meetings & Agendas page on the YourTahoePlace.com website. Either way, the CivicPlus portal is the new Board of Trustees’ and Board-

10am - 6pm
11am - 5pm
appointed committees’ meeting materials repository, and it comes with a slate of great tools that help make meeting materials more accessible to the community.
Click into any upcoming meeting to find the meeting agenda and packet materials (including links to individual items and approved meeting minutes from prior meetings). Click into past meetings to find all of the above, plus the video recording of the meeting (including links to the specific portion of the video where each item/topic was discussed).
Looking to subscribe to updates about Board of Trustees meetings and/or specific committee meetings? Create an account by clicking the “Sign In” button in the top right corner, then look for the “Subscriptions” button to manage the email notifications you’d like to receive.

Activity GUIDE
Looking to plan your best summer ever in Incline Village and Crystal Bay? Pick up a copy of our Incline Village & Crystal Bay Activity Guide at the Recreation Center, the IVGID beaches, Village Green restrooms or Preston Field bulletin board. Inside you’ll find maps and information about all of the different indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities that IVGID provides for our community.

We will continue to make tweaks and upgrades based on user feedback and usage patterns we see over time. So feel free to send an email to marketing@ivgid.org with any comments or questions you may have.
Sincerely,
PaulRaymore

History of the course
Construction of a disc or frisbee golf course began in the summer of 2011 after approval by the IVGID Board of Trustees. Course construction was funded through private donations from community clubs, businesses and individuals including the North Lake Tahoe Lions Club, which donated $10,000 to partially fund the course. Remaining funding was raised through the Incline-Tahoe Foundation, by individual business and family hole sponsorships.
The Incline Tahoe Foundation is currently collecting funds to help with future improvements and upkeep of this facility. Visit the Disc Golf Course project page at InclineTahoe.org for more information or to make a donation.
Note: Parking is available at the Recreation Center, located at 980 Incline Way. Parking is not permitted at the Incline Tennis & Pickleball Center. The 1st hole is located on the west side of the Recreation Center entrance road.

SLEEP BETTER THIS SUMMER
Sleep plays a crucial role in overall health and well-being, affecting nearly every aspect of our lives. During the summer, it can be challenging to maintain a good sleep routine due to longer daylight hours and warmer temperatures. Here are some tips to help you sleep better during the summer:
Keep your bedroom cool: Use fans or air conditioning to regulate the temperature in your bedroom. Aim for a temperature between 60-67 degrees Fahrenheit for optimal sleep.
Block out light: Invest in blackout curtains or wear a sleep mask to block out excess light.
Stick to a routine: Try to maintain a consistent sleep schedule, going to bed and waking up at the same time every day, even on weekends.
Limit screen time: The blue light emitted by screens can interfere with your body’s natural sleep-wake cycle. Avoid using electronic devices like phones, tablets and computers at least an hour before bedtime.

Stay hydrated: Drink plenty of water throughout the day to stay hydrated, but try to limit your intake close to bedtime to avoid waking up to use the bathroom.
Choose lightweight bedding: Opt for lightweight, breathable bedding made from materials like cotton or bamboo to help you stay cool and comfortable throughout the night.
Take a cool shower: Taking a cool shower before bed can help lower your body temperature, making it easier to fall asleep.
Relax before bed: Engage in relaxing activities before bedtime, such as reading a book, practicing meditation or deep breathing exercises, or listening to calming music.
Watch your diet: Avoid heavy meals, caffeine, and alcohol close to bedtime, as they can disrupt your sleep.
Exercise earlier in the day: Regular exercise can help improve sleep quality, but try to avoid vigorous workouts close to bedtime as they can increase alertness and make it harder to fall asleep.

MEET A TRAINER: SANDY RAVENS

How long have you been a personal trainer?
I have been a certified personal trainer since 2012, and I have been teaching fitness classes since 1988 with a variety of professional certifications. I love learning, growing and motivating people along their journeys!
What made you decide to be a personal trainer?
Witnessing the positive impact one can make in people's lives is incredibly fulfilling. There's a unique satisfaction in guiding a client towards their goals and watching them surpass even their own expectations. For me, becoming a personal trainer is a blend of my personal interests, my love for fitness and health, and a profound desire to empower others on their path to improved well-being through exercise and healthy living. Fitness and healthy living is transformative both mentally and physically. I enjoy sharing this with others and pushing them to be the best versions of themselves.
What do you enjoy about being a personal trainer?
The best part of being a personal trainer is watching my client’s successes no matter their age or condition. I see them go from good to great or beat a challenge they thought they could not overcome. That is extremely satisfying and pumps me up.
Parks&Rec
Pre-Game Fitness: Jumpstart your tennis or pickleball play with this 30-minute warm up class. Energizing music paired with dynamic movements and exercises based on tennis and pickleball moves makes this the perfect start to your day of play. Daily drop in rate is $5. The class meets Wednesdays, Fridays & Saturdays from 8:30 - 9am next to the Pro Shop at the Tennis & Pickleball Center.
Details and registration listed on the Adult Programs page at InclineRecreation.com.
Do you have a fitness mantra? If so, what is it?
There is no such thing as try…There is ONLY do!!! When you make the commitment to do something, you need to go for it and believe in yourself. Even small steps forward make a huge impact on life.
Describe your personal training style?
My clients would say I have a very strange sense of fun. I like pushing myself and my clients. I like to be right alongside them, in the trenches, so they do not feel alone in the process. I know what it takes to get what my clients want, and I want to feel what they are feeling, especially the hard work and the successes. I love motivating people and that motivates me.
Now that we are well into summer, what suggestions can you provide to help people stay motivated?
Fitness isn’t a job, it’s a lifestyle! Be creative in your workouts and your approach to fitness and health. The Tahoe lifestyle is 365 days of the year. SUMMER BEACH UPDATES
Dear residents of Incline Village, As we step into the peak of summer, I'm thrilled to welcome you to the vibrant beach season in Incline Village! By now, I hope many of you have spent a day or two soaking up the sun on our stunning IVGID beaches and are looking forward to many more.

I'm just as excited as you that the 4th of July fireworks are returning to our beaches for the first time since 2019! It's a momentous occasion that you won't want to miss.
As a reminder, please ensure your IVGID Recreation Pass (aka Picture Pass) or Recreation Punch Card is up to date before heading to the beaches. Our beach gate staff cannot assist with pass issues - this must be addressed at the Parks & Recreation Department Counter inside the Incline Village Recreation Center - and there’s nothing worse than having to make that detour when all you want is to just lie in the sand.
So please, let’s show our beach staff appreciation for their dedication to keeping the beaches restricted access, and understand that they are just doing their jobs if they ask you to visit the Rec Counter to sort out beach access issues.
Our Community Services Ambassadors, dressed in bright yellow, are here to assist you throughout the summer. They're ready to answer questions, resolve issues, and ensure everyone respects our beautiful Lake Tahoe environment and each other. Look out for them and feel free to seek their help or guidance on all things IVGID-related.
I look forward to seeing everyone embrace the summer spirit on our beautiful shores!
Wishing you sunny days by the water,

eet the Summers-Whitton family, the visionary families behind Reno's most luxurious organic tequila brand, El Sativo. A family tied by love, marriage, and shared ambitions. Their journey finds its roots in the fertile soil of Jalisco, Mexico, where the Agave for their tequila grows—a testament to the family's deep connection to their craft.
Growing up in Reno, they’ve lived lives dedicated to art, service, and community, leaving an everlasting imprint on their beloved city. To us, Reno isn't just a place—it's our home, a precious place of memories from school days to family gatherings.
Partnering with their friends, the Montes family from Jalisco, they embarked on a quest to create a luxury sipping tequila unlike any other. Pouring their hearts, souls, and a sprinkle of Reno magic into each bottle, El Sativo became more than just a spirit—it became a symbol of their principles, a fusion of heritage and environmental stewardship.
Their tequila, born from a single estate, is a certified organic masterpiece, kosher and free of additives. From the slow-stone-oven-cooked Agave to the natural fermentation with native yeast, every step in our process is a labor of love. Our proprietary distillation method ensures that the Agave's essence remains intact, capturing its beneficial properties in every drop.
A rollercoaster ride of hard work and determination came together in a remarkable moment when El Sativo Organic Tequila won the coveted “Best in Class” medal and numerous double gold awards from the most prestigious San Francisco World Spirits Competition. This triumph wasn't just a win for their families; it turned Reno into the talk of the town as the place where the best tequila in the world was born.
Join us on this exciting adventure as we take bold steps together, elevating our brand and introducing our state-of-the-art sustainable distillery. With unwavering dedication to quality and authenticity, we honor the spirit of Reno with our story of unity and tradition as we celebrate a Better Tequila for a Better World. Be on the lookout for our new bottle.

Golf Shop updates
As we approach peak golf season, I encourage all of our residents and guests to stop in to the golf shops at the two Incline Village golf courses to see what's new this summer. There have been a tremendous amount of wonderful comments about how great the displays look in the Championship Course golf shop and I would like to give a special shout out to Lewana Phillips and Patti Boyed for their efforts to make the golf shop look incredibly inviting and shopper friendly.
We will have additional summer and fall lines arriving throughout the golf season. So stop in throughout the summer to see what’s new - there’s always something.

Looking for a great deal? Head on up to the Mountain Course golf shop for some great deals and discounted products. Shoppers can expect to find a rotating selection of apparel and accessories, often at a big discount off MSRP.
Turning from the apparel side of things, both the Championship and Mountain Course golf shops offer a variety of logo infused products such as putter covers, ball markers, and divot tools. These items are a wonderful way to represent Incline Village and make great gift ideas.
Lastly, if you are in the market for new golf clubs, the golf shop at the Championship Course carries a great
variety of clubs from brands such as XXIO, Titleist, Cobra and Ping. But even more importantly, if you are not sure which brand will best suit your needs, we offer club fitting services with Ashley Wood, our Head of Player Development at the Incline Village Golf Academy, to ensure you’re using the perfect set for your game. You can also check out our website for a series of free Club Fitting Demo Days with these top brands.
